Foley is a bitch for cheaping out on our future stars while Bama et al were buying them escalades.

It was scary how dominant that team was from the second half of the Arkansas game onward. It also speaks to the leadership of men like Tim Tebow and Brandon Spikes, who were able to keep that team together and also keep Aaron Hernandez from killing people.

Foley enjoyed status as "premier" AD during the Spurrier years and Donovan. The Gator homers radio jocks used to crow about how gifted he was.
In fact, he sucked. He didn't hire Spurrier and Machen had more to do with Myer's hiring than Foley.
In fact, Foley's hires were Zook, Muschamp and shark fricker.
He basically refused to upgrade football facilities because he thought Florida to be so superior that they didn't need to the bells and whistles. After all, it's the University of Florida. Arrogant prick.

Not accurate. If you spend any time talking to Meyer he will tell you as much. Machen and Meyer's time at Utah didn't overlap as much as people think.

People don't blame Machen enough for this. Machen actually required the athletic department to cut the budget significantly despite increasing revenue and shut down a master plan that was going to reshape the facilities because he didn't want the AD to finance more projects. There were some big things in the pipeline that disappeared.
