I think Saturday's tragic embarrassment makes it more likely that Auburn pulls off an upset.

They have no businesses winning, but when has that ever stopped them?

Sounds about right. To be honest, that thought occurred to me not longer after that game was over. I really hate Jordan Hare. That place is straight evil.

Is very real! Auburn will play with their hair on fire.

It’s the only game they care about. They will celebrate more than if they win an NC.

As a Bama fan the IB is always concerning, especially at JHS. Just something about that place makes Auburn look like a top 5 team when they play Bama. I expect Bama to win but nothing would surprise me.

In 2007 Bama lost to La-Monroe and the next week played Auburn tough. Auburn did't put the game away until late in the 4th quarter so the fact Auburn just got curbstomped by NMS doesn't lessen my anxiety about this game at all.

We were pretty average in 2007 with nothing really to play for.

The whole “Iron Bowl” voodoo thing is way overblown. The overwhelming majority of the time, the favored team wins. In fact, I don’t think there’s been a big upset in the Iron Bowl in 20 years. Maybe 2019 could count, but Tua was injured for the game.

2002 was probably the last time there was a "major" upset in the game. Auburn was down to their third string running back and playing in Bryant-Denny Stadium against an Alabama team that had just shut out LSU in Tiger Stadium. Auburn shut Alabama down for much of the game and won 17-7.

It's not just the fact that Auburn has won a lot of times at JHS. But how close some of the games have bee n there when they shouldn't have been. Auburn had no business being in that game 2 years ago and yet it took a football miracle for Bama to win. Hopefully the curse was broken 2 years ago.

You are correct. A lot of games have been closer than you would expect given the records, though. The underdog often scares the favorite.

I've got my Millroe doll ready, and just bought a new batch of nice, sharp stick pins.

I fully expect fire alarms all night at hotel in Montgomery, the buses will show up late, 85 will be shutdown for hours due to pickup trucks rear ending each other, Wire Road will be the same, no power in the visitor locker room, mysterious static on the headsets, and the field will be soaked even without rain in weeks. And probably stomach viruses from the breakfast buffet. Must "survive the shitstorm'. Pun intended.

Don't tell Auburn but Bama is staying in Atlanta this year.

Going to be fun.

The better team usually wins no matter where the game is played. Since Saban started his run in 2008, Auburn has won in JHS 3 times - 2013, 2017, and 2019. The 2013 game was between two teams ranked in the top 4 and the 2019 game was Max Jones’ first road start after Tua got hurt vs Mississippi State. The only big upset was in 2017.

Was does happen is that Auburn puts up a hell of a fight against Alabama in JHS. Alabama’s only covered the spread once (2011) in that same timeframe.
