re: In the next 15 years, do you see Bama ever losing 3 or more games in a season?

15 years? 15 years ago it looked like Fran had the program turned around. A lot has happened since then.

So yea, I see us losing 3 or more games at some point between now and 2032.

Not only is there no guarantee there is no way we continue on this run.

Can we still be really, really good? Of course. There is no coach on the planet who could do what Saban has done consistently from 2011 to 2017.

I know one who might give it a run if he had Bama level facilities and history behind him:

Absolutely. Once Saban is gone, it's not going to be even close to the same program. Don't get me wrong. They will still be very good. They just won't be nearly as dominant as they have been. They will have many 11/1 and 10/2 seasons with some 9/3 and even some 8/4 seasons tossed in rarely.

Yes.

How quickly people forget how fast a program can fall. When, not if, is the question.

We've seen it with USC, Florida State, Penn State, Florida, and even Alabama before. Plus all of the programs I have overlooked.

History says a drought follows extended good times. It may be a slow drop=off or quick, but it is coming. The Prince of Shortness is getting old. Add all that seething, inner anger and his insides are probably worn down.

Tantrums, and whatnot.

Saban won't be around for more than 15 years, so yes. Not saying that Saban is the end-all-be-all for that program, but it will almost definitely have a rebuilding period following his departure.

Seeing as how they've never gone longer than 9 years without a 3-loss season in their entire history (and that was when they were only playing 10 games a year), I'd say going 21 consecutive years (current streak of 6 + 15 more) with 2 or fewer losses is highly unlikely.

If someone beats them too often, the REC goes to work....so, as long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa and Emmert and is in Indianapolis, no, I don't.

Saban lost 3 games a year at LSU every year but one. Good Lord.

Imagine what he could do with Alabama level resources as opposed to Clemson's.

He'd be damn near unstoppable.

Clemson has spent some money. They're right there with Bama in terms of spending.

ETA: check out their new facility

Clemson's new FB complex is as good as there is in the country.

Pretty freakin amazing

Dabo would be an idiot to leave what he's built at Clemson to follow a legend. He can retire there.

Absolutely can happen. All that has to happen is Nick Saban accuses Houston Nutt of some stuff without having any proof, and presto!

We can only hope that you're correct. Even then, Dabo would lose 3 his first year though.

I could see them losing more than that retroactively.

No. They aren't.

They may have a nice new facility, but the will to win is nowhere near Alabama.

Alabama spends, and makes, way more cash than Clemson.
