I’m sure it’s too late tonight, but next time head out on US 82 about 20 miles East towards Columbus to the Golden Horn.

Was so much better when it was the Halfway House. Damn, I miss that place. Wings were the best around.

Why would SEC refs be washing Sabans cars in Greenwood, MS?

ETA should have read whole thread before making this comment

It doesn’t. Had a Barnhills buffet my first year at MSU then it closed.

Starkville honestly doesn’t have many chain restaurants beyond fast food places. Chili’s closed down. I think it has a BWW, Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday’s, Wingstop, Newks. That’s about it. It has a ton of great local places though and I prefer those anyways

Obys has the best catfish.

Is Cappes steakhouse still open? They had good steak.

Last time I went to Starkville so much has changed since I was there. I miss the old Mugshots with the upstairs bar and balcony. I miss State Theatre being open. I miss the 25 dollar ribeye special at cowbells that was the bomb (stopped recently passing through on a business trip to get this, apparently they stopped doing it years ago).

Starkville has grown a lot but to me it’s not as good. Feel like I was there during the best time. There more restaurants now but I feel the bar/party scene was better then and Cotton district is getting way too crowded.

And Halfway House wings and burgers were the fricking best

My personal list

1. Strombolis
2. Obys
3. Pettys
4. I heard Mugshots switched back to fresh, handmade patties. If true, I think I’d put it on there.
5. Daves and get the athena pizza
6. Casa Bravo

Part of the problem is the student population has increased dramatically, which is a good thing for the university and state, but the smaller establishments and town can’t really handle that very well.

Dave’s was one my main drinking spots, and even back when I went it was slow (if you wanted to eat and drink) and crowded. I can’t imagine what it’s like now.
