We were staring at having a Super Regional at our place without Arkansas. God, that would have been like watching a beloved family pet grow old and sickly.

What would make this suck even more is if it were like high school and the players had to work on the field prior to/after games. That’s why it always sucked hosting HS tournaments. You had to be there even if you weren’t scheduled to play so you could get the field ready for the other games.

The players may not have to work this, but all of the South Carolina facility staff will have to be around to work it. I guess if you're hourly, you get a little more money out of it.

Doubtful. If you watched the regional final, hardly anyone was present. Could have to do with the time of the game though

Not too long ago, 2010 or 2011, Southern Cal's lighting system did not meet the NCAA guideline to host a post season event. They lost the right to host Regional and the super Regional.
Won the PAC-12 and still had to travel.
During the off season paid big bucks for a new lighting system.
