Well, then, give me an honest and objective reason why we won't be. I just gave you several reasons why Bama would not be, and it wasn't me who stated LSU would win the West three out of the next four or five years.

Let's see what you have to offer.....

South Georgia Dawg on the nose....

How do you figure UGA will be 4th in the East? We just signed a top 10 class and have another on the way.

AU 4th in the West? Get a freaking clue dude.

Agreed.

Bama has to have everything go right to get to the top. I think it is less than likely. I think AU MIGHT outrecruit Bama this year and if they do, forget it. If not, AU still has the better coaches.

Tubbs will be at AU the next 5 years I am pretty sure. Therefore, AU is 1 or 1a.

LSU is either 1 or 1a for the same reasons as AU - stability and coaching.

LSU, AU, and Bama will all pull their share of talent and as far as coaching AU>LSU>Bama.

Arky is a wild card. We will see what kind of HC Petrino is in the SEC and how recruiting goes.

MSU stays near the bottom with Ole Miss.

See, I don't expect Petrino to be at Arkansas long enough for us to see what kind of HC he could be in the league.

As for the East:

UGA and UF - 1 and 1a. Interchangeable.

UT a solid third and ALWAYS competitive and dangerous.

SC 4 and rarely if ever really in the mix. Spurrier may be gone in 5 and if so, they start over but still better than UK and Vandy.

UK - Never really will be very competitive for the East championship. Probably won't be in the SECCG once in the next 10-15 years.

Vandy - duh.

Alabama is still 2 years away from having a solid program.

I see that BamaScoop is having one of his better days.

And a solid program does not necessarily mean a top SEC program.

Hell, we'll probably surpass Auburn at some point. We have the top facilities in the SEC, if not the country...surrounded by states loaded with talent and a great offensive coach (like him or not)

I think ark will be as you've always been. Every now and then make a good run followed by a mediocre season followed by a bad season. But since you're down now, maybe in 5 years you'll be atop the west.

I like how honest, rational comments never cease to find a way to put LSU at the top.
Well, it is an LSU board. That being said, the rational thinking would have LSU at the top. Should Bama go 8-4 or 9-3 next year, then maybe it is up for more discussion. But what makes you think a team that was fortunate to finish at 7-6 last year would find their way to the top of the West in 5 years? I don't see how one could conclude that based on the past few years...

You might honestly have to flip Bama and MSU. Croom has proven to be a great game day coach,

He's had his moments but his problem is being loyal to our OC. Our OC has been beyond horrible and Croom sticks with him.

Coach Croom may be the best coach in the SEC in my opinion. He is a class act, he is old school, and he represents what is not in college football anymore. I wish he were at Alabama.

Croom is awesome. He just has the deck stacked against him at MSU as far as turning them into a big time program.

Croom should have been hired over Shula.

Thoughts? I think folks have been predicting us to fall to 4th in the SEC east since the mid 90s.

I think you don't understand how many frigging Div 1 players the state of Georgia produces and what an advantage that gives us. I think you seriously underestimate Auburn.

I hate the mutts, but it is going be the us and mutts ruling the SEC East for the foreseeable future. Simple fact is nobody else has the population and athletes, money and facilities to keep up. Unless Richts splits town and they hire another Goff or Donnan, Georgia is going to be around for a while. The West is much more wide open and unstable.

I think (I hope) that all the teams continue to improve. The competition should be more, well, competitive. I like being in the hardest conference in college football, and I don't think it's getting any easier.

That is why AU recruits GA so hard. You guys keep most of them in state, but every year we pull a few studs. Same goes for us in FL, but we usually get a few more from GA.
