I think the East stays about the same:
1. Florida

5. Kentucky
6. Vanderbilt (come on, it's Vandy)
West (changes a little):
1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Auburn
4. MSU
5. Ole Miss
6. Arkansas
1. Florida
2. Georgia
3. USC
4. Tenn
5. Kentucky

West (changes a little):
1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Auburn
4. MSU
5. Ole Miss
6. Arkansas

He's had more than enough time to get good recruits and turn this program around and he hasn't. I wouldn't count on this, He's lost his drive.

I like Saban b/c he turned this program around, but honestly what else has he done to get so much praise. There have been many head coaches in college that have dominated at one program then move around and fail to get another program up and running. (see Spurrier)

4. Auburn

3. Bama
4. Arkansas

Noway OM or MSU is ahead of Arky....Hell, we'll probably surpass Auburn at some point. We have the top facilities in the SEC, if not the country...surrounded by states loaded with talent and a great offensive coach (like him or not)

Since he has been here he has averaged 7 wins a season.. that may not look like much but in SC years thats not half bad. And yes we are looking and hoping for a little more this year and I think over the next 5 we'll be able to increase our wins per year.

just think arkansas will get better with petrino not saying we are gonna drop off that much but can see us being 5-2 arkansas being 6-1. of course we will be that 1 loss for you guys!

I don't think a whole lot will change in the East. I don't look for South Carolina to jump any higher than the third spot every few years or so, and that's if Spurrier is still around, which is a big if.
East:
1. Georgia
2. Florida
3. Tennessee
4. South Carolina
5. Kentucky
6. Vanderbilt
In the West, I think you could really have 1, 1A, and 1B with Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. I think Arkansas will fall back, because as much of a drifter as Saban is, Petrino is worse and won't stay there long. Nutt will turn Ole Miss around somewhat.

Over the last five years the top 3 teams in the east have been Florida, Georgia, and Tenn in some order. I don't know if Tenn can keep it up.
In the west over the last 5 years it's been LSU, Auburn, and somebody else. I don't see that changing over the next 5 years.

I give Spurrier two more years then he gives up on South Carolina. Shame to see him wash out like this. Their recruiting has been crap since his great class two years ago. Back to the cellar with Vandy.

AB lives on....
States 5 years from now....with honest, rational comments in bold
West
1. Alabama(If Saban stays, if not LSU is at 1)
Ok, here is my question. Knowing Les Miles will have out recruited Saban 2 out of his first three years while he is at Bama, and provided IF LSU does win wins 2-3 West titles in the next 5 years, how in the world is Bama going to "eventually" become the best team in the SECW IF SABAN STAYS???
Just remember, besides Auburn, LSU and UT...UF and UGA then shows up in 2011 and 2012, and the UGA again in 2013.
In other words, Bama fans better pray it happens by 2010. If it doesn't by then, it's over for Saban, and perhaps Bama in the process.

2. LSU(Will win 2-3 SEC Western Divinsion titles in the next 5 years)
So what you're saying is that LSU is beyond loaded, (and I agree) will continue to load up.. winning 2-3 more SEC West titles. It would seem that you think Miles is a good coach, and I agree. Since LSU is on top now, knowing LSU is bringing probably the greatest recruiting class in LSU history, and we're already sitting great for 2010.....and seeing those players will be
juniors and seniors in 5 years... again, how
does Bama then suddenly become the top team?
So-- again-- why would Bama pass LSU up? Knowing the last 10 years, and the next upcoming 5 years... when are they ever going to pass LSU? In my opinion, this is almost like asking when will USC ever pass UF...
----------------------------------
3. Mississippi State(I think they get their act together, and they will suprise some people!)--
You might honestly have to flip Bama and MSU. Croom has proven to be a great game day coach, and it seems the only team that blows them out is LSU. They've beaten Bama twice in a row now and
they've recently beaten Auburn. I'm of the opinion that Croom is a better coach than some people think, and he may eventually be regarded as a better OVERALL coach than Saban himself.
The talent is there is MS-- a place where per capita more NFL talent comes from. He has to accept that Starkville isn;t the greatest venue,
but then again, LSU was in the dumps in 1992 as well. That's Crooms biggest obstacle. If he was at a better program, the sky could be the limit for him. As it stands every year under him to date MSU has gotten better.
4. Auburn
Not in a million years. Tubbs simply too good a coach. If he leaves, Auburn could possibly fall. I'm not sure where your alligences lay beyond LSU, but honestly..don't see how you can even make that assessment, especially knowing Tubby's background overall and head to head (with lesser talent some of the time, I may add) is simply better than Saban. Auburn will probably always be in the top tier, and in my opinion, our consistant threat for the next 5 years at least.
As long as he is there, Auburn will contend. I don't like the guy, but Tubby is a good coach. And there is no reason to believe he's not better than Saban, because he's beaten Saban (and had better or as good overall records as Saban).
As a matter of fact, Tubby has the head to head on just everyone...Meyer, Saban, Richt....
just not Les Miles. [/b]
5. Arkansas
Program's in a mess, and I can understand your reasoning. However...Petrino could POTENTIALLY end up as everyone's worst nightmare. We'll see, as the skeptics have no reason to believe the guy at this point.
While no one knows what will happen in 5 years,
I'd be a lot more worried about Petrino, if (BIG IF) he develops enough character to see through his tenue at Arky.
6. Ole Miss
You may be right here as well. But the state of MS is still talent rich, so anything could happen. It's the SEC and Ole Missusually can have a good team every few years. I think Nutt's a better coach than many give credit for, and I think he will make Ole Miss better... but I just don't see Ole Miss ever as a year in and year out force in the SEC.
Being objective, I simply don't see Bama being any better than third in the west for many, many years, because I honestly believe there are quite a few coaches in the SEC that are simply as good or are better overall coaches than Nick Saban.
No slam on Saban-- he could of went to the BIG 10 or the PAC 10 and been on top. Just not in the SEC. Furthermore, there are programs that are simply better than Bamas',or Bama is way behind, like the LSU, UFs, and UGAs right now.

How do you figure UGA will be 4th in the East? We just signed a top 10 class and have another on the way.
AU 4th in the West? Get a freaking clue dude.
