He fielded what was probably the worst defense I’ve ever seen at LSU. If it weren’t for his Heisman winning quarterback bailing out that defense time and time again, we’re possibly looking at a sub 500 team at LSU this season. He’s also yet to accomplish anything of significance. I’m putting him in the category of “pretty good” and withholding the word “great” for the 2 SEC coaches that have actually earned that title. This will go down as one of the stupidest and most embarrassing seasons in Alabama history. Losing to the Big 10 because they couldn’t get bailed out by any number of people that helped wipe their asses this season.

He is an above average coach. Despite that he has yet to win a big 6 bowl game, cfp game, or bcs game in his 34 year head coaching career. At 62 years old he probably has another 10-15 years to finally get over that hump. At LSU he is 20-7, a 74% winning percentage. This is slightly better than his 70% winning percentage at Notre Dame and behind his 85% winning percentage at Cincinnati.
