I only watch when Bama is playing.

What if all of us watch half the game?
What if we watch the whole game but only halfway paying attention (like SEC refs).

You're smoking crack if you think OSU and Notre Dame will draw the lowest ratings in years.

I'll not be watching .... because I could care less.

And I can make fun of you “actual” college football fans if I want

Sorry Tex, but you are wrong. You have two of the biggest national brands in college football playing in this game. You are just displaying typical Longhorn arrogance based upon the fallacy that if Texas is not in the game, then the game is not worthy of anyone's attention. The game will be well attended and will have high TV ratings.

Down vote away, but I will not watch it and have zero interest in either team. By New Year’s college football was boring and there were games on constantly. They’re going to need to overhaul the postseason product - it’s just not very good.
Conference play on the other hand is great. Everything through the SEC championship game was great. Also, I didn’t think I’d like the ESPN/NBC programming but it was great.

I'm willing to bet half of you won't even watch the NC game
Why would you make such an ignorant statement? Unlike Texas we're not a bunch of bleeding vagina figs, who will pout because we're not in the game.
Of course, most people here will watch the game. Idiot.

I'm excited for it. Also, it should've been played already.

Any true college football fan will watch. Even with the FCS...Div II AND III I watched when I could. Buckeyes and Irish will have a huge following. Kinda curious as to how it plays out.
This playoff is definitely going to be a grind for whoever wins ??.

Oh, you are one of those people who are not really fans of football, you just love the tribalistic aspects of following some group.
Another simpleton overthinker. I have lots on my bingo card, and football has to earn a spot.
And to be specific, I'm a fan of "college" football, which in that sense is on its last breath. I quit NFL decades ago.

I’m watching the NFL Saturday. I probably won’t watch any sports Sunday or Monday.

Many non-Texas fans have posted saying they aren't watching either. So there's goes that simpleton theory.

We already have an attention whore on this site. Move along with your stupidity.

I will watch but I will admit, dragging the season out until Jan 20 is a stupid idea. You lose all the momentum. The season needs to be wrapped up around New Years. Do away with the conference championship games and start the playoffs then.

You posted this why. Attention whore much?

My team is in it still but I agree the pacing is terrible for the postseason. All season for more than 3 months, college football is played every Saturday. Then once the playoffs start it like you play on a random weekday, then wait like 12 days and play on another random weekday. Why not just continue playing these games every Saturday after the conference championship games? The Ohio State Tennessee game feels like it was months ago at this point.

Oh yeah! For sure. The Ohio/Indiana market is HUUUGE
2nd highest rated game of all time- Ohio St/Oregon in 2014
Only beaten by Texas/USC in 2005- which, up until this season, did not feature an SEC team.
I swear, some of y'all live in reality-warped bubbles around your trailers.
