If your team National Championship(s) was not 1 vs 2 it does not count.

I don't count national championships before the BCS unless it was 1 vs 2. BCS was a true 1 vs 2 before that the two best teams rarely played for the National Championship. Here is a question. How many times did 1 vs 2 play for the title before the BCS? If your team was not part of a 1 vs 2 for the title that Championship is irrelevant. Yes, a1abama this is directed to your programs 28 national titles. Geaux Tigers!!
Fixed!
First sentence means a lot. I thought all you guys were smarter than this. Comprehension for dummies is needed for this board.

If you break it down to most title in the poll era, Alabama has the most.
Most in the BCS era, Alabama has the most.
Most in the CFP era, Alabama is tied for the most.
I really don’t get constant troll of Alabama’s titles. Even if 17 is fraudulent, Alabama has more than any other program in the last 10-20 years (BCS/CFP era).

If #3+ wins, it meant the rankings and seeding sucked.

That moment when you’re so trigged by another program that you unknowingly shite on 2/4 of your program’s national titles.

I agree, playing 3 seed Clemson clearly shouldn't count. Don't know how you couldn't have seen this response coming, other than being a full blown re-re.

In the post-season? Only a handful.
1963 Rose Bowl - #1 USC vs. #2 Wisconsin
1964 Cotton Bowl - #1 Texas vs. #2 Navy
1969 Rose Bowl - #1 USC vs. #2 Ohio State
1972 Orange Bowl - #1 Nebraska vs. #2 Alabama
1979 Sugar Bowl - #1 Penn State vs. #2 Alabama
1983 Sugar Bowl - #1 Georgia vs. #2 Penn State
1987 Fiesta Bowl - #1 Miami vs. #2 Penn State
Then the Bowl Coalition was formed at the beginning of the 1992 season and #1 vs. #2 happened in the post-season almost every year.

BCS + Playoff National Titles (1 vs 2)
1. Alabama (5) (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017)
2. Clemson (2) (2016, 2018)
2. LSU (2) (2007, 2019)
2. Florida (2) (2006, 2009)
2. Florida State (2) (1999, 2013)
6. Auburn (1) (2010)
6. Tennessee (1) (1998)
6. USC (1) (2004)
* 2003 not included, #1 and #2 did not play, no title per OP standard
Eh, looks good to me

Also, wasn’t Clemson ranked #3 this year heading into the title game?

So you aren’t counting the title you just won?

It certainly doesn’t count if you lost to Arkansas and Kentucky

Better check that again.

Well, if you don't count clemson making it to the final as them being #2, then it would be 1/2. not 1/3.

To my LSU brethren, Clemson was No. 3. The final playoff rankings after championship week do not change after the first round of the playoff.
