That quality of the program depends on whether you are an in or out of network attorney.

Disbarred Dickie Scruggs called world's richest lawyer

quote:

The national digital publication Money Inc.says disbarred Mississippi lawyer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs is the richest current or former attorney in the world with $1.7 billion.

Nat Berman of New York, author of the article, said Scruggs is best known for tobacco and asbestos cases and amassed more than $1 billion in judgments against various companies.

In 2008, Scruggs pleaded guilty and eventually served six years in federal prison. Today, at the age of 70, he has completed his sentence. In his article, Berman says Scruggs has retained his fortune.

Don't be such a fricking douche. I went to UF and then MSU for my masters degree.

As others have stated, it depends on what area they would like to get their degree.

MSU
Engineering (any dicipline)
Vet School
Business
Ag
Golf course or turf grass management

Ole Miss
Law
Medicine
Liberal Arts
Growing Marijuana

You are welcome.

Yeah, it was kind of a joke. Apparently your om education didn't allow you to catch the "were" and "irkes" haha

It's obvious from your post, that you could not get into UF. Do you even have a degree? I say no.

The answer is Ole Miss loser.

t, both of my sons did go to Ole Miss when they could have gone to UF if they would have wanted to, although they are white males so probably would have had a hard time getting in with UF's ethnic diversity program in admissions.

Sounds like you sent your sons to the right school

Ole Miss is a lot more upscale & now that they've returned baby blue to their school colors they have the absolute best color scheme for your wardrobe possible. MSU is maroon & white. (Awful color scheme)

I freaking love their ribs. Not so much everything else but IMO the best ribs in the city.

Anywhere you would like to recommended? For ribs.

I've been to central, commissary, and a couple more.

I guess whatever school he wanted . if he chose Ole Miss, why are you doing this to me. For real, I didn't know there was a such thing as a bad education.

On top of those two, Cozy Corner, BBQ Shop, and Rendezvous all have decent ribs (Rendezvous is famous, but the atmosphere is better than the food these days). I'm not really a fan of Corky's, but it's got plenty of devotees too.

Get a sammich from Payne's though. Stuff's addicting.

Ole Miss is the clear winner. Your kid will have social skills, a great college experience, and friends/network throughout the country after he or she graduates. No school in the SEC West outside of Alabama has grown and improved the quality of education at the school more than Ole Miss in the past 20 years.

If you want to settle in Jackson afterward, send your kid to State.

This has more homer to it than anything I've seen posted in a while. I guess I'll give it a go.

MSU has students from all 50 states, and alumni organizations in about 15-20 states, and Seoul, South Korea. MSU has more Asian, and black students than Ole Miss, and grads share the same opportunity and benefits without the obligatory snobbery clubs and contrived persona bs.

I've found this to be true on the West Coast, but it's negligible. Mississippi -- in fact, nearly all of the SEC school states -- carry a certain stigma outside of it.

Just like Northern people carry a certain stigma inside the South. Alas, business opportunities in a lot of the Southern states are anemic. Obviously not talking about states like Texas or Georgia or Florida, but you get the idea. The mayor of Los Angeles has more responsibility and presides over more people than both the states of Mississippi and Alabama combined.

If you're going to stay in a fishbowl, you want to swim with similar fish. If you're a fish in the ocean, you swim with the sharks. MSU or Ole Miss? Matter little, quite frankly, when you're competing with Ivy League grads.

Depends if you're taking about the med school when saying Medicine. If you're talking about med school and law school, then OM is the best option in law and med school in MS (and State doesn't have either).

But if you're talking about undergrad, one can get just as good pre-med education at State and can go anywhere for med school if your grades and MCAT score are good enough. Probably the same with pre-law. If the kid is up to it, then majoring in engineering at State while taking the pre-med classes is a really good combination.

(I know one doesn't actually major in pre-med or pre-law, but my point still stands. One can get into med school or law school just as easy from State as OM).

My kid grew up a State fan and just graduated from State, but I told him he could go to OM if he wanted to. When he was a HS sophomore I even tried to convince him to go to Bama so he could be a fan of a better football team. He still wanted to go to State. (Without me knowing, he applied to Bama and was accepted).

I don't think you got real Memphis Barbecue if its too sweet. Kansas City Barbecue is the sweet one, Memphis is tangy. You don't even put sauce on Memphis Dry Rub Ribs.
