Cam had an unreal video game type season against SEC defenses. How could you not take Cam Newton?

Because they'll see his Wonderlic score and realize they'll have to hire someone to tie his shoes.

I don't know who the Titans will take but they need to draft a QB bad.

As far as NFL potential goes, playing in the SEC doesn't really mean a whole lot. Yes the SEC typically generates a lot of draft picks, but the Panthers and Bengals would completely dominate an SEC offense. I doubt Auburn would even finish a game against a horrible NFL team with positive yards on offense. So, simply playing in the SEC tells you absolutely nothing about what a guy is gonna do in the NFL.

Also, NFL teams tend to be a little wary of spread QBs. They very very rarely turn out to be good players at the next level. That being said, it just takes one team to fall in love with him for him to go in the first round.

So had Tim Tebow, Tommy Frazier, Charlie Ward (though he chose NBA), and Danny Wuerffel. I'm sorry, but system QBs have never panned out in the NFL. Vick is the only QB right now that is different simply because of his athletic ability. I think it's worth a shot picking Cam, but I wouldn't put the stake of my franchise on him, which is what you do with a top 10-15 pick in the draft.

Sweet flame, I am sure he will beat the hell out of Vince Young's wonderlic scores and he has a pretty good record in the NFL. I think VY is something like 30-17 as a starter.

And soon to be unemployed. It's pretty obvious now he wasn't a key factor...

Look at the Titans record when Kerry Collins started and then when Vince Young started. I promise you that VY's play isn't a problem. Plus Cam is a much better passer at this point in his career than VY ever was.

It's not a problem, it's a nonfactor. He is a lameduck QB.

Without that defense he had early, he'd be a black David Carr...

How about Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers is damn close (he can really run), Randall Cunningham, Steve McNair could run early in his career as well.

Marc Brunell...

It's getting thin. But Cam has just as good of a chance as any on talent alone. The question is, can he run an NFL style offense and not that gimmick shite?

Not really trying to flame. But rather trying to say each team looks for different things in their QB. Cam is a fantastic player, but most of his off-field issues and how he's reacted to them lead me to believe he's not that smart. If you've got a complicated offense, Cam is probably not your guy.
