Has like 4 million people. Of course the recruiting there sucks. New York is huge but their high school football is among the worst in the country. Surprisingly New Jersey is very good though. Same with Virginia and Maryland.

I know that’s why I used them as an example, also Alabama and Louisiana have similar populations but produce way more talent also so does Mississippi and South Carolina.

Virginia has a lot of talent and Maryland the dmv period football and hoops.

I’m over 30 and it’s just a fun question, the answer is obviously a few combos of Texas,Florida,Georgia, cali. But there is some other good states that have talent and would be tough.

Georgia will/has overtaken possibly Florida as far as numbers. That’s why the muh Texas Florida California is bullshite. Georgia is producing talent in big quantities.

You get into per capita, the old math doesn’t work.

Let’s do states per capita by population to NFL player ratios, Louisiana wins every race, not even close.

For instance, the cities of Atlanta, Houston, L.A. Cal. etc all have more population than the entire state of Louisiana.

Definitely not Texas. Texas kids in large get so overrated because of all the exposure they get. Chances of getting a bust are extremely high in Texas. Give me Florida and Georgia. Or Florida and CA.

OU recruits Texas as much as anyone but to be honest players from Texas are soft. You can get by with soft players on offense to some degree but not defense. Venables best defensive players Stutsman last year David Stone and Jayden Jackson this year he got from Florida.

I believe you are correct. Per capita the State of Georgia puts more players in the NFL. Texas puts more players in
D-1 football. However, if you were shopping for olympian athletes, no other state comes close to California. Now after saying all of this, I believe the question was if you could only recruit two states. California, Texas and Florida, but not necessarily in this order and it would change each year based on the needs of the team. Louisiana and Mississippi produce great football players but have a much smaller population. If Kiffin can keep the talent in state, LSU will win some championships, because he can cherry pick Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. LSU roster mostly Louisianans. Of course, this would be true for other schools like USC, #1 recruiting class.

Plot twist: you can only pull basketball recruits from the same states.

This is the way.

Florida for the offense especially skill positions. Georgia for the trenches and LBers

Louisiana and Florida are the correct answers, obviously. Texas has a bit of talent, too, on par with Ohio and California.

LSU fans would have you believe their state is #1 so I guess I'd start there.

I think there is a variable to this question as well….where the school is located.

For UGA, 100% Georgia and Florida
If I’m Texas, %100 Texas and Florida
If I’m USC, definitely California and either Florida or Texas
If I’m Ohio State, %100 Ohio and Florida
If I’m LSU, definitely Louisiana and either Texas or Florida
If I’m Auburn, %100 remove the football program and concentrate on Basketball and Swimming&Diving

Well, obviously the populated states for obvious reason. Question is where are biggest and strongest and fastest players?

The South.
1.texas
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. Louisiana
5. Alabama
6. Mississippi
7. South Carolina
8. Tennessee
9. Oklahoma
10. Arkansas

Not that great. Alabama produces some good players but no where close to California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, or Texas.
Most of Alabama’s roster is out of state players. It’s been that way for years.

Heisman winners:

Mark Ingram - Michigan
Derrick Henry - Florida
Devonta Smith - Louisiana
Bryce Young - California
