This aggie bashing has to stop. They won a Big 12 title in the 90s. Bama + LSU combined had less Big 12 titles than a&m in the 90s.

You’re an idiot if you think a@m is paying more than tx. The difference is, they don’t puff out their chests out and publicize it.
Jimbo is short and most Ags are insurance agents. Ouch. Stop with the usual self-righteous tx crap.
“Texas donors never wanted to get into that world en masse, so NIL is something that they can use to support the program. “
Come on man. Don’t hurt your collective selves with back pats…
And leading with, all OL get $150K a couple weeks before signing day. That’s the real desperation.

Jimbo is just going completely unhinged with the bag game and has dropped an eye popping number on recruits this cycle from the handouts of the army of rabid insurance agents in their alumni base. It's almost like he has an impending sense of desperation, or the fact that he has the identical record as Sumlin. Only his platform shoe guy knows for sure.
You really do not have the slightest f'ing idea of what is going on with Jimbo or anybody else. You are starting to sound like an LoserSU fan just making stuff up. It really makes you look ignorant and butthurt about recruiting.

Oh, it definitely seems to be, I just don't think it is a good thing for college football for NIL to be used that way.
I think your opinion will change once Bama has their system up and running.
The Texas plan is to basically create an endowment for every position on everyone of its athletics programs. A base amount that everyone will make. Then, the true superstars can make even more cash based on their own individual deals. It's the new reality. Don't hate, my brother, emulate.

Do you even pay attention or are you just trolling? I just had a repairman here and he was talking about t.u and their NIL deals. He's a Texas fan

I love how y'all think this is an insult. frickin' A right we were desperate. Shitty football will do that, but I don't have to tell you, because you were desperate as frick when you offered Jimbo that insane contract. And look where it's gotten you, you're about to pull a #1 class. Yeah, we offered $150K a couple weeks before signing day ... and look what has happened.
Everyone bitching just needs to shut up and get their donors in line. There's not a single school in this conference that doesn't have the booster pool to take advantage of this system. Stop complaining and get with the program.

Sadly lost in this terrible thread was the part that pthephen thought the other special “clients” at his facility respected him

My eyes are open....chief.
Where am I wrong? Your current class of commits will be going into their senior year...those who don't go in the portal...by the time you fricksticks arrive.

Yes, that that is pay-for-play and an enticement for players to attend a specific institution. Those are both specifically forbidden.
They are doing it because Miami and BYU did it an the NCAA said nothing. Now the NCAA is taking an interest in it.
I don't expect there will be sanctions or anything like that because the NCAA created this mess by initially throwing their hands up. But they will shut these programs (NIL programs not football programs) down.

One thing is for certain, these are all corruptions on the intent of NIL. Whether you support it or do not support it, these are schemes to get players to specific schools.
The thing that gets me is that most people who understood the history of college sports knew NIL would be corrupted but there was always a few naive people who argued it will only about guys selling their name, image, and likeness.
I was initially surprised that the corruption didn't take off immediately but now I am surprised at how blatant the corruption has become. I thought schools would be a bit more sneaky about it but instead they're just coming out and saying that every player who attends school X will get $Y.
And we have our Texas fans who keep saying they are merely "setting a baseline and the players can add to it with their own deals" as if those words somehow excuse the pay-for-play scheme.

this is sour grapes. how is under the table payments more equitable?

Last I read, t.u and OU arrive in 2025. Apparently OU can't/doesn't wanna pay the fee to get out of the Big12
