If you are a 5-Star talent

Doesn’t it make the most sense to transfer every year for a new and bigger NIL deal? Won’t be long and we will see a kid playing for: Ole Miss, Oklahoma, A&M and then Bama to finish out his college career.

We don't sign five-stars anymore. Not after what happened last time.

I think after the first free transfer you have to sit out a year like the old days.

You can only transfer once without sitting out.

Factual research has never been a strong suit for people on this forum.

If my kid is a 5*, we are looking at Vandy, TAMU, UT, AU and UF. I am pushing education and life after sports more than bouncing around.

I think it makes sense to threaten to transfer if you have any kind of leverage if you are just trying to get as much money as possible.

Gonna hurt the chances in the NFL as career numbers will be sketchy. Better get it in college then and I guess that is the purpose of your post. A redshirt year will get 1/5th in additional money.

Kids are now raised to:
1) play for pay
2) play to "get theirs"
And when saban pushes to change the ?rating, you'll see a new 6? rating system.

This or you can transfer as many times as you want but you have to sit out a year that doesn't count against your eligibility.

Leveraging you position out of HS and then, again, for a transfer year or to be retained with a "contract adjustment" at your original school does make good business sense.
It will be the norm until the market corrects and "businesses" recruiting indirectly for schools hedge against getting burned or extorted. Contracts not tied to schools but to "specific regions" they are trying to increase market share.

If the rumors coming out of Ohio State are true, then Ewers had to START in 8 games for his $1.4m deal to work. He went to Ryan day and said I know Stroud was up for Heisman but I need to start next year, day said no and that’s why he went to Texas where he knew he would start.
All that to say if you are starting it’s probably best to stay put.

Nil deals have to be guaranteed money so this is not true
Now they could have said they are not going to do another year of deals with him or tried for a much cheaper rate next year

Who knows, it was a 3 year deal.

Only in certain states, and even those rules appear to be up to some degree of interpretation.

That's even better! They can still make NIL money while they're sitting out. Play college ball for three years, sitting out a year between years two and three a make 25 million or so being a college football mercenary. Even if you never play a down in the NFL, you're set for life.
