The West goes through Baton Rouge this year. LSU'S team is more complete than anyone else right now.
Bama/Ole Miss and Auburn/A&M are pretender/contender games this week. 2 of those teams will challenge LSU for the West.

FSU was #8 and has been slowly improving for awhile.

Miami was unranked and went 5-7 last season.

Also, Miami would've beaten A&M far worse had they not constantly shot themselves in the foot in the first half.

Those are the factors contributing to that perception.

At least A&M moved the ball, had 10 more first downs, and kept it competitive till the 4th in scoring 33 points.

LSU dominated the first half aside from redzone issues that resulted in only a three point lead at the half. Daniels threw for 150+ yds in the 1st quarter.

And if Miami played FSU this week, my sense is that Miami would win. They’ve been dominant in all facets of the game.

This is called wishcasting.

At the moment, I would have to agree, but Bama is still dangerous, and we have Ole Miss in Oxford. It's a long season. A lot can change. Let's see how it plays out.

LSU may look like the favorite in the west after last week’s games, but the Tigers played a down MS State team. There are no guaranteed conference wins the rest of the year. LSU could lose 4 SEC games this year.

The rollercoaster is expectations. And Durkin has managed to wipe expectations off the table.

The next 4 weeks will let everyone know where they really stand.

100%

2-2 would not be unexpected. Thanks Durkin.
3-1 would be a huge improvement.
4-0 I’m getting back on the train.

But this is a 4 week grind through the SEc. Although Barn and Arky are down, the wear Ansley tear is brutal.

You are 100% correct. We could win it or we could lose it…

My Honest expectations are that Mississippi State is just that bad this year. SEC West is WIDE OPEN

It’s very early but lsu Bama and ole miss all look to have a reasonable shot at the divisions.

Really looking forward to seeing how Bama/ole miss plays out this weekend.

I think Ole Miss wins the west this year. They have a good defensive coordinator, and the offense appears to be the best offense in the SEC this year.

Statistically, LSU has a better offense so far this season.

LSU is the favorite this week

Next week it could be someone completely different depending on the results this weekend

I have seen both LSU and Ole Miss play this year, and I would take Ole Miss. Ole Miss has the advantage in play calling and in QB over LSU.

Nobody is world beaters this year... How good is LSU? We don't know. I didn't see much of the game, but Miss State looked horrible from what I saw.

State looked so bad I feel like we still don't know shite about LSU
