re: If Texas A&M and Mizzou stay in the Big XII, are they national champions in 2012 and 2013?

All kidding aside that a&m team in 2012 was legit. Especially at the end of the year. The defense was nasty and we all know about John football. I loved the sec when he was coming into it and mostly LSU fans was all like but he’s too small, the sec will break him. Lmao.

does this become an equal share conference too?

That Auburn game is in a long line of Ones That Got Away.

Sure or I guess just however the Big XII functions now. So third tier rights are not shared at least.
Do you even really care? I got two degrees from Alabama, and I honestly couldn’t care less how much money the athletics department makes. They’ll still ask for donations.
Every school just immediately spends it on some usually unnecessary improvement.

its pretty much texas takes what it wants, and leaves the rest for the conference to fight over. This is why we left, so it would have to change to even give it a thought.

Yes

This is greatly exaggerated. Texas keeps its 3rd tier rights. The tier 1 and 2 rights are shared amongst the conference. The conference distributed $36.5 million with a gap of only $2.5M between the top team and bottom team.
So the team that gets the least in Big XII is still above the PAC12 and ACC average. The idea that Texas takes everything is not true.
Mizzou would also be able to sell their own tier 3 rights like Texas.
If you add in that ticket sales and donations could go up because Mizzou would be making conference titles regularly. I don’t think they’d be in much worse shape.
Mizzou in 2011 recorded 64M revenue and 64M expenses. In 2017 they recorded 97M revenue and 102M expenses and ticket revenue was the lowest it’s been since 2007.
Are y’all really better off?

2013 Mizzou was damn good. 3 point loss in double OT to a Gamecock team that finished 11-2 and an SEC championship loss to national runner-up Auburn.

Mizzou has not sniffed a conference championship in half a century.. A&M in 20 years.
And you think they were winning back to in '12 and '13?

No.
Mizzou probably wouldn’t beat 2013 FSU

This. I always lol when people try to troll A&M over the possibility of a missed championship. There’s zero chance A&M would’ve been in over notre Dame, especially coming out of a shitty conference.

I thought they would if done a 2 for 1 deal
Send Missouri and Texas AM to sec for Arkansas

Seriously...the Oklahoma loss in 2007 doesn't bother me as much. They beat us twice that year and were simply better than us. The 2013 team was much more complete, and we were essentially tied with Auburn going into the 4th quarter. I'm not convinced Auburn was really better than us, but our defensive scheme was simply one of the worst ever assembled that I've seen. I can still see Auburn rushing for 15 YPC every down.

I do, too.

I don’t think so. Our team grew throughout the season.
That said I think at the end of 2012 we would have beaten any team in the country by a lot. Johnny Football was rolling and our D was solid.
Y’all would have smoked Notre Dame and obviously y’all could have beat Bama.

Between LSU 2012 and LSU 2013, A&M scored at least 40 points in every game.
The problem was that in three of those games, they gave up at least 40, losing two of those 3 games.

Aggy will never play in the SEC Championship game. Ever. Just as Ole Miss has never played in the SEC Championship game in football, ever. You guys aren't nearly as familiar as Aggy as we Arkansas fans. They are without a doubt the biggest chokers, just name the sport, they choke. Dimwit Fisher, the 75 million dollar man is going to improve Aggy but they will never win an SEC West title in football. I've seen how they perform under pressure too many times and Fisher isn't near enough to change decade upon decade of losing at just the wrong time. Book it !

2013 Missouri could not beat 2013 Florida State. That season, Mizzou gave up 23.1 points per game (including 59 to Auburn) and Florida State scored 51.6. Florida State was just too dominant on offense.
