If Texas A&M and Mizzou stay in the Big XII, are they national champions in 2012 and 2013?

Both would've needed to go undefeated to get in the title game.
Texas A&M played one Big XII team in 2012- a 41-13 route of Big XII co-champion Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. The best team in the Big XII that year was Kansas State who went 11-1 and finished with a Fiesta Bowl loss to Oregon.
Another thing to consider is that had A&M been in the Big XII, they don't play Alabama, so maybe the season ends with 3 undefeated teams.
2013 Mizzou also played one Big XII team- a 10 point Cotton bowl win over 10-2 Oklahoma State. Baylor won the Big XII and lost to UCF in the Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma went 10-2 and was impressive against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, but also suffered a blowout loss to Baylor and lost by two scores to Texas.

Another thing to consider for 2012, Notre Dame beat the hell out of Oklahoma in Norman. So if ND and A&M are getting compared at the end of the season, ND would have a big win against a Big XII opponent.

I think the competion a team faces in its league goes a long way in shaping the quality of that team. I also think this is especially true in college football. There is no telling what those teams would have looked like if they had stayed.

I don’t think so. Our team grew throughout the season.
That said I think at the end of 2012 we would have beaten any team in the country by a lot. Johnny Football was rolling and our D was solid.

Oh please. That has nothing to do with it. Look at the team that blasted Alabama. Exactly who did they play?

We don’t get in over an undefeated Bama or ND even assuming we run the table in the Big 12.

A&M probably has 2 losses in 2012 in B12 play. Pass defense was horrible. B12 had much better passing attacks than SEC. Don’t need to look much farther that La Tech game that year.
Ags had a pretty good run defense first year in SEC and things came together well. By end of the year very few teams wanted any part of A&M. NC in 2012 if in B12... very unlikely.

A&M took a while to become the team it was by the end of the season. I doubt we'd go undefeated. However, I believe A&M was as good as anyone by the end of the year. I rematch with Bama would have been fun, but obviously would have made no sense.

2013 Missouri was a lot of fun. Never would I have thought they would compete at a high level in the SEC like they did in the XII.
2013 Missouri would have played for a NC had they been in XII. The XII was terribly weak then. OU’s win over Alabama in the Sugar doesn’t reflect any kind of dominance that the XII had that year.
2007 and 2013 Missouri were both NC caliber squads.

Wut?
At the end of the year you got beat down by LSU.

We played y’all game 7 or something that year. We finished the year against mizzou our first two years

Nearly every word of this sentence is wrong.
October 20 =/= end of the year. It was game 7 for A&M, as in midway through the season.
Beat down =/= a 5 point loss which could have easily been going into overtime if Taylor Bertolet can make extra points and 33 yard field goals.

Maybe AM can add to their fake national champions wall. Or maybe what if national champion wall they will have a national title every year.

You're right about the schedule.
You lost to Florida on Opening Day, then to LSU on October 20th.
You beat Bama on November 10th and then gave Oklahoma a beat down in the Cotton Bowl at the end of the year.

Wait a second. Every A&M fan on this board has described 74-72 as a beat down. Now all of a sudden a real beat down doesn't count because it hurts your feelings?

Here's a hypothetical: The Big XII comes to Mizzou and says we want you back and we're going to add BYU or Cincinnati as well.
Their pitch is that you get to be in a creampuff North division:
Mizzou
Kansas
Kansas State
Iowa State
West Virginia
BYU/Cinci
We've seen from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Miami being on the doorstep of the playoff that being in a bad P5 division does not preclude you from the playoff.
Mizzou doesn't generate as much money, games are probably slightly harder to find, but in that division they have a pretty clear shot at the playoff.
Would you want them to take that?
This could just as easily apply to Arkansas as well.

It's not fake, I can see it right here.

Money... maybe they still have resentment towards Texas and the Big XII powers that be. Maybe they just like playing better teams.
I've said basically since A&M joined the SEC that if I were Arkansas, I'd seriously consider bolting to the Big XII.
