Memphisplaya is exactly right. Texans identify with west coast liberals and glory in their liberal lifestyles. Memphis is a thug hole because of corruption and race baiting by the blue party.

"Texans" weren't a thing. Mexicans didn't want to settle Tejas. They needed people. They offered up cheap land to Tenneseeians, Virginians, South Carolinians, etc.

Once all these Southerners got there, they got sick of Mexico and decided they wanted Texas for themselves.

Look at the most famous founding fathers of Texas.
Sam Houston - Virginia
William Travis - South Carolina
James Bowie - Kentucky
Stephen Austin - Virginia

These great men abandoned their home states and became the first Texans.
The first Texans (Texians) actually became Mexican citizens and didn't have a problem with Mexico until a dictator took over and tore up the constitution...which at the time was similar to the U.S. constitution.

Volunteers fled Tennessee for greener pastures.

Also, Sam Houston was a notorious drunk.

So much so that you want to cede from the Union? How is that going?

Have y’all made more progress in your efforts to withdraw from the country and become your own country? When you do that forget about anymore help.

Some condemn texas because of their perception of one city from what they read on the internet, yet deny the existence of a much worse city in their state, up to trying to claim it’s in another state? That’s pretty original I guess.

Truth be known, the Vols died saving Houston time to put together a semi-competant force.

It's crazy that Sam Houston had already been a Governor of a state before he moved to Texas and fought the Mexicans. Can you remind me of what state he was Governor of again before he went in and trounced Santa Anna?

This shite is so dumb at this point. 99% of the army was from somewhere else, while we're all thankful for the Tennessee volunteers, no they didn't win the war for Texas.

Holy crap. It's hard to believe there were 3,000,000 in the US Army that went to defend Texas during the Mexican-American War (because Tennessee sent 30,000 and that's how math works).

It sounds like you really do need to have people give you Texas history lessons.

Also...the Army was sent to defend Texas after the Alamo by US President Andrew Jackson from (guess where). Then Texas was annexed into the United States under US President James K. Polk. Where were Jackson and Polk from again? They seemed to have a pretty big hand in Texas statehood here.

In 1861, a state convention voted overwhelmingly to secede from the Union, against the fervent wishes of Gov. Sam Houston.

Houston stated, "I wish no prouder epitaph to mark the board or slab that may lie on my tomb than this: 'He loved his country, he was a patriot; he was devoted to the Union.'"

Nashville is now little Hollywood. You will have a difficult time finding someone there that has a Tennessee accent.
Nashville is liberal as they come now.
Californians have taken it over.
If it wasn’t for our rural communities Tennessee would be as blue as Kentucky

Tennesseans gave their lives to give Texans a state

Thanks to the volunteers from all the states that helped Texas win its independence from Mexico. The tennerC volunteers were all fleeing to Texas because the could not stand living in tennerC any longer. So they actually abandoned tennerC in favor of fighting against Mexico. tennerC must have been an even bigger shite hole back then.

and all they did with that gift is to turn it into a liberal suck hole.

Not even sure if you are serious or just extremely stupid. Texas is and always has been one of the most conservative states in the country. Texas has 24 Republicans and 12 Democraps in the House and both Senators are Republican.

You really should use this thing called "Google". It will help from making you look so stupid on the rant

Instead, you are proudly orange, which is convenient for clothing.

You can wear it to Neyland Stadium, picking up trash on I-40, and going to jail.

Let’s not forget the Mississippians contributions as well

LINK

There were three distinct groups known as Mississippi Rifles that responded to governor Albert Gallatin Brown's call for volunteers to supplement the forces of the regular army during the Mexican–American War.

The 1st Mississippi Rifles, led by future U.S. Senator and CSA president Jefferson Davis, had a glorious victory at the Battle of Buena Vista.
