Stafford is the classic example of a great player drafted by a bad team.
That dude can make ALL the throws. All of them.
It's a testament to him that he's leading the Rams to the super bowl in his first year.
He's a damn modern day Jon Elway. He just wasted his best years with maybe the worst franchise in the league.
I hope he wins.

Probably not but he's definitely changed how people view him.

No on HF, he will need a consistent run the next couple of years to be in the discussion.

Probably a HOF without a ring based on his numbers while in the dysfunction that is the Detroit Lions organization, especially if he plays 4-5 more years in LA and has solid production there.
But a ring would certainly cement a HoF enshrinement. He's still only 33, barring injuries he could easily play 5 more years after this season.

Has anyone questioning his HOF-worthiness taken a peek at his career stats?
Career stats he managed to put up while in Detroit. A place so bad it (inadvertently) forced two of the greatest to ever do it to just retire instead of keep playing for the lions.
If he puts together another 3-5 years of solid production he’s a no doubter into the HOF. A ring this year would be icing on the cake.
It’s the NFL HOF, not Cooperstown. Save the nitpicking debates for that Hall.

Definitely HOF with or without SB win. The guy plays at a high level, takes a beating and gets back up for next snap. He is old school in that respect.

NFL records
Fastest player to reach 20,000 career passing yards (71 games)[1]
Fastest player to reach 30,000 career passing yards (109 games)[2]
Fastest player to reach 40,000 career passing yards (147 games)[3]
Fastest player to reach 45,000 career passing yards (165 games)[4]
Most fourth quarter comebacks in a season: 8 (2016)[5]
Most passing attempts in a season: 727 (2012)[6]
First player to complete 60% or more of passes in every game in a season (2015)[7]
Looks like he will be the fastest to 50,000 first game of next regular season
TD–INT:
323–161
Passing yards:
49,995
Completion percentage:
63.0
Passer rating:
91.1
Not to shabby for a player that played in arguably the worst franchise in the league, anyone who says he is not a HoF is a obtuse retard.

Unlikely. He played at an mvp level this year and wasn't even nominated for the pro bowl. He's criminally underappreciated

You had a good post until the end there. No need to act like the bullied kid on the playground. Good grief.

Even if he doesn’t win it he’s in, as long as he continues to make the playoffs every year or two and wins another playoff game

I have. He’s a stat monster with a career of nothing to show for it. His reputation parallels UGAs til this year in that aspect. He will need a Super Bowl MVP, or league MVP and some pro bowl trips at this stage of his career to enter the discussion

Good Lord. Does Megatron ring a bell? How about:
Alex Karras, 9 time All-Pro
Joe Schmidt, 10 time All-Pro, 10 time Pro Bowl

Don't know but if wins the Superbowl MVP,it's makes it 4 Dawgs to win it.
Pretty sure it'll be the most players of any school.

He has played in a completely different era. Don’t look at his stats compared to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s eta qb’s.
Ask yourself, has he ever been the best qb in the NFL? He has not been, but that may be unfair since he played at the same time as prime Brady, Manning, Brees, and Rogers who are all first ballot HOF’ers.
So then ask, has he ever been considered the 5th best? How is he viewed against his peers? I think this comparison is much more apt than comparing his numbers to historical qb’s. Would people take him over Mahomes or Allen? Would they take him over Rogers today?
I think Stanford is very good, borderline elite. In my opinion, that’s not HOF worthy.

Surely you jest. Barry Sanders just walked through the door and said hi.

Facts speak for themselves, he is the fastest in NFL history to reach those passing numbers, from 20,000 to 45,000 yards (5,000 years increments), he will probably be the leagues alltime passing leader if he plays another productive 6-8 years.
The NFL has about the easiest HoF to get into as far as pro leagues, so he is a lock and anyone who says otherwise is not very knowledgeable when it's comes to sports, is that a better way to phrase my post. (Obtuse retard may be a little harsh).

Apparently you are living vicariously through the accomplishments of alumni from a school you never attended.
Just an observation.

His passing numbers are so great because he was always needed to throw to get back in a game. I'm not sure, but I don't think he's ever lead the league in passing.
It's tough without that superbowl win for him. I'm not sure if I'd even label him up there with Dan Fouts as a passer type QB. But he's probably in.
