Let me piggyback off of this. How many years in a row of missing the postseason would make the fanbase call for Saban's head?
Assume 10-11 wins each season
None. I'd say 5-6 but I don't think he goes 5-6 more seasons.
However, if he wins 11 games, he's making a 12 team playoff.

It's hilarious that we've gone from "Saban is finished, over the hill, the decline is real" after a couple of games to "If Saban drops the championship game.....". ?
Nick Saban will be finished competing for championships whenever he decides he is finished competing for championships. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
This. It's hard not to wonder "what if" as an LSU fan in regards to Saban. I wish we would've fired Miles and given Saban his job back, which is what's reported that he wanted. I do think Saban would've been happier long term at LSU. We appreciated him. It'll be a sad day when he hangs it up.

Ask this question again if Bama loses in the Iron Bowl. I'm sure you'd see a lot of different responses.

That would certainly change the equation

I’m genuinely curious to hear what you Gumps will think about the state of your program.
You get an A+ for effort, but we LSU fans (and we hate to admit this) have learned that Gumps are actually pretty gracious for the most part, win or lose. They've had a hell of a run for a hell of a long time and they're appreciative of it. You have to be a well practiced troll with genetic talent for it to get a real rise out of them.

Saban probably retires soon. He's definitely lost a step or two. He even lost to seven-win Steve this year ...

We'll think we're the second best team in the SEC in the year 2023 and still the best damn program in conference history by a long shot.

If you lose to Ga, it’s gonna be another indication that Saban and bama have both loss a step in the SEC and college football

Thank goodness. I was worried they may have lost a step.

They haven't lost to Georgia yet.
It is still a big IF at this point.

For that matter he would make the playoffs with 10 wins most years.

We'll never miss the postseason again now that the playoff idiots got their way.

At this point, this team has done way more than I expected after the Texas game. Beating Auburn and going to the SECCG will be a success imo.
Although I think UGA is better, we have a shot. Bama is the only team in CFB that can match them talent wise.

This is maybe his best coaching job and you're questioning the state of the program?
Jesus.
