I’m genuinely curious to hear what you Gumps will think about the state of your program.

Still better than 100+ other programs. Still better than almost all of them, actually.

Disappointing but improved from the start of the year. If we still have issues yet again next year, that would be very bad.

From my perspective, they ought to feel pretty good about the direction of the program, regardless. I'm not sure if the coordinator hires were home runs, but this team is much more disciplined than last year's, and have improved as the season has moved along.

Those are foundational building blocks.

Most people think Bama probably over achieved this year. So I doubt you get a huge outcry you are looking for.

I said when he was hired in 2007 that I would be happy winning the west and going to the SECCG.

To get to ATL this year with this team has been his best coaching job

We're WAY ahead of where I thought we'd be this year. I'm good. Lord Saban is doing -amazing- work coaching this year.

That we are a shite ton better program than Missouri whether we lose by 30 or win by 3

After the first three games of the season, many if not most Bama fans were convinced that they were headed for a 4 or more loss season and Saban had finally lost it.

Now (assuming Auburn doesn't pull an upset) they're once again they're headed to Atlanta with a playoff berth on the line.

Unless they're blown out by Georgia, all but a handful will rightly feel things are just fine.

Bama fans (including me).

Depends on how it goes

If it's a close loss, would be disappointed in no playoffs but not that upset considering how we started off the season. Would be pretty encouraged by what is returning for next year

If it's a blowout, definitely more upset given we should have enough talent to keep it close at the very least. Would still be encouraged for the following season, just less enthusiastic about the coordinator hires

The way Rees/Milroe are operating right now, I think Bama has a pretty good chance to win though. Don't think it's a full on repeat of SEC championship 2021, but could definitely see it playing out like the 2017/2018 game with Bama pulling out the W in the last couple minutes or OT

This is the answer! That was one thing I noticed so much more this year compared to last. That is one of the hardest things to get across to some players!

Actually they should be proud. Saban winning 10+ games the last few years with such average teams is incredible.

Honestly, I am just grateful for the ride. If you told me Alabama would be in the SEC championship after South Florida I would have laughed.

I have been very impressed by the massive improvement over the year. This team has improved more over the season than any Bama team in recent memory. And I think that points to Saban not having lost it.

If Alabama loses I will be disappointed. But not too much. I feel like we are playing with house money. And I feel very optimistic for next season.

He took a team that looked like it would struggle to get bowl eligible after the USF game and got them to the SECCG.

Granted, he's playing with a good hand (lots of talent) but the man put in the work this year despite people - including myself - wondering if he had the juice in his 70s to methodically drag a team to some of their goals like he's done in the past.

It's a solid "when," not "if," given the forbearance of RECtiles, of course.

12-2. Pretty decent with new QB, OC, DC. True freshman starting safety. Will be disappointed if they don’t win it next year.

Saban is a great coach with a great system and Kirby learned his system well. But it's not so much the X's and the O's but the Jimmy's and the Joe's.
Have you check Bama's recruiting ranking for 2023?
7 five stars and 19 four stars leading the One3 recruiting rankings.
As long as Saban is able to sustain that level of recruiting, they will continue to be playoff contender every season.
