If only Bama had a real cross-divisional opponent or a real OOC schedule

Needs to be discussed thoroughly. Your precious TSIO "rivalry" game isn't going to help your case when you try to whine your way into the CFP.

Lets get back to trolling Bama for losing to LSU last night.

Haven't you heard? Bama/Sewanee is the biggest rivalry in sports.

Y’all deserve to get your face rubbed in it after discounting the SoS talk for two straight weeks

If they played a schedule with more than 1 ranked opponent they’d have a shot. Instead they scheduled duke, southern miss, and NMSU. Helps you not lose, but hurts when you lose your only ranked matchup and you need another quality win.

WE KNOW!

I've bitched about it plenty. But when schedules are made 486 years in advance and people who still think UT is relevant are making the schedules, wtf do you want us to do about it?

Hey I tip my cap if you really think that. But most of you on here try to defend your fake rivalry that negatively affects the rest of the conference.

I'm gonna laugh when Auburn puts 50 on the Tide before Malzahn splits for Arkansas.

"Fake rivalry"? 1 of the oldest - esp. in the SEC?

It's funny how NONE of this was ever brought up when TN kept winning the game.

The scheduling didnt exist in this format back then. The current setup now a) significantly reduces the number of appealing away trips LSU fans for example can take to the likes of Knoxville and Athens, and b) it gives Bama a permanent and inherent advantage because Tennessee is structurally disadvantaged from a recruiting standpoint.

It's not a real rivalry because Tennessee is just not that competitive anymore, not that I'm trying to dog them. They have a great history but haven't been relevant since the '90s. I don't doubt that older Bama fans actually care but the younger ones pretending they care is a joke and very contrived. And it's a very convenient setup for Bama and everyone knows it.

NONE of your 1st paragraph had anything to do with TSIO's history - which you are shooting down because of current standings instead of the history of the series (which is more important). As I stated, people are pointing @ Ala.'s current schedule & throwing a dart @ TSIO - which they HAD NO ISSUE with back when TN was winning the series. So either the game IS important, or it's not....CAN'T BE BOTH WAYS!

The reason for bringing it up is specifically because it is used to justify a ridiculous scheduling arrangement for the conference.

Oh, so I guess all these rivalries are a "ridiculous scheduling arrangement for the conference"?

Oklahoma-Nebraska, Texas-TAMU were really great rivalries, but things change and time moves on, get over it. You want to hang on to the Tenn game, go ahead, but it's going to cost you.

Duke, Southern Miss, New Mexico State and WCU have never been good at football in 486 years so this argument fails

They’d have 2 losses already and we wouldn’t have all this “but muh playoffs” shenanigans?
