In a way I always expect to win every game. That's just based on believing our team is talented and well coached enough to beat anyone on a given day.
Now do I realistically expect it happen? Of course not. What Bama has done with Saban had never happened before just like Burrows season. To expect those to be the norm is just fooling yourself in every other case so far. Clemson is in the beginnings of a possible Bama type run but until it happens, it hasn't happened ever, other than Bama.
I realistically expect 11-1, 10-2 based on the Bama game. Any more than 3 losses will be a failure and disappointment.

I was responding to the previous ridiculous statement with a just as likely scenario

When do they expect to win their next NC? Serious question.
Well, no one was seriously considering LSU for the NC before this past season started, were they?
How about we just let the games play out and see what happens?

We can keep going back and forth on a lot of this
The point is that LSU has had as much or more success than anyone but Bama this century, and nobody has matched Bama’s success. LSU has beaten them more than anyone else has over the past 20 years.
The question was when will LSU be back in the title game. My answer and my point is that recent history suggests it won’t be too long before we’re back in the playoff and title game.
LSU is 61-19-2 against the other P5 conferences, so chances are that the next time LSU gets into the playoff, they’re more than likely advancing.
LSU is 4-0 this century in BCS championship and CFB playoff games against everyone not named Bama, scoring 41 ppg and winning by an average of over 18 points per game.
All those engaging in wishful thinking that LSU will just fade into obscurity are going to be gravely disappointed.

The statement wasn’t ridiculous. The point went right over your head.

Are you this sanctimonious in every day life?

Link? Of course there’s going to be a drop off. But we’ll probably run the ball way more than we did this year, so Brennan won’t have to be a world-beater for us to be in playoff contention. Much like last year, if we beat Texas I think we’ll pick up a head full of steam and Brennan will start slinging it with confidence. Biggest question mark is our O-line, but I think Ed Ingram and Kardell Thomas will show out. Arik Gilbert grew up having to play O-line because he was too big to be allowed to play WR or TE, so he’ll be able to throw those crucial chip blocks that Moss was so good at. He’s gonna surprise a lot of people as a true freshman.

Of course there will be a drop off.
The good thing for us is that Bama will experience one too, and Auburn is still rolling with Bo Pix.
It’s Clemson/Ohio State and then everyone else, but I expect LSU to be 1 or 2 in the West.

LSU was quite literally a half second earlier tackle by Florida of not winning the 2007 title
Alabama was quite literally a gifted vote due to fabricated recruiting rankings from not winning the 2011 and 2017 titles.

LSU is literally an Oklahoma State missed field goal from having more championships this century than any other school except Bama, with whom LSU would be tied at 4 a piece.
Arent we already? Pretty sure we're the only one with 3 since 2000.

A point you missed. Bama isn't in this conversation.
Why do you Bammers try to make every thread about your team. You're no longer on top. You are the 4th or 5th best team in the SEC.

After having the season LSU had and then the turn over to the NFL you expect a drop off. Do they have talent left, yes, but it is younger with less experience. Brennan has talent but not the playing time.
Even this past year, most were predicting a 9-3 or 10-2 season. Think most will predict the same this coming year.
I think LSU will have a chance in every game but will not be favored in every game. But the following year, with a senior QB I expect a run at the playoffs, but that would have to pass through Tuscaloosa and the west.
