He lacks self awareness. Has anyone here seen him connect on that first pitch “DADDY” swing?? I’ve watch about every game and he whiffs every time. He has like a million opposite field HRs and doubles. He puts himself behind in the count with that approach.
If we are up by 10 runs, nobody on then sure go for it. I just haven’t seen him have much success with that approach.

I’m all for changing the mascot. That’s a positive thing for the university. A simple gesture that will go a long way.

I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault. Fromm was obviously joking and was lacking the maturity and self awareness at the time.
The girl also lacked maturity by making an impulsive decision before thinking who is this going to affect other than Fromm. Probably young and thought that was the right thing to do.
I think we can all learn from this and maybe the better approach would of been her giving Fromm more knowledge and being patient with him and allowing him to make it right on his own instead of destroying his career and taking away from Fromms future family. We need to be patient with each other. 20+ years of thinking a certain way doesn’t change over night. She used vinegar when she should of used honey.

I’ll start by taking accountability for my own actions and remarks that I have made behind close doors in the last 23 years. Just like Fromm, I have also made similar remarks putting down the black community. Our environment made it okay to lightly tease or make a passive remark about our black communities. I think everyone here empathizes with Fromm and I truly do believe it was a product of immaturity/lack of awareness. We should be supportive and listen to what our black brothers and sisters are saying. They NEED our love and understanding. It doesn’t have to make sense to us, we need to show them we hear their pain. No one is to blame for this. We are headed in the right direction and have been for centuries. We should be proud of our progress as a human race and we must continue to grow to help build the black community that has given so much to us. All of our teams consist of young black men seeking to better themselves as well as the university that have given them that opportunity. College football is great because improves the lives of so many kids as well as generates the revenue for these schools to provide a quality education for the thousands of students in the sec(including me and Fromm). At the very least, we can give them positive support and show them optimism of better days ahead.

I don't think he failed. He led them to a FCS championship appearance and finished with a winning record. He is 100-55 as a head coach. Jimbo is 100-32 as a head coach. Both have national championship rings. I love this hire.

Great post, very interesting! I admire Nick Saban and his consistency. He teaches young men how to take on life after football. I feel like orgeron took a lesson from Alabama on how to manage success and focus more on the task at hand. Saban and O do not worry about what the national narrative is. Dabo and Day worry too much about the national narrative and their players reflect that. I will always admire Saban for that.

Time will tell. I think there is enough talent on this team to be in the conversation. If he can be above average, we should be able to compete for another title. We will know more after the Texas game. He graduates in May so he will have a lot of free time during the season.
