No backlash from me, I'll just have to change my favorite team on secRant

It was the worst kept secret in CFB that DeBoer had accepted the job. Or do you think Bama and DeBoer worked through the entire process in 2 days?

Really? I think I remember the initial interest being lanning and then norvell which led to a huge extension for Norvell. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but I'm pretty sure the Saban retirement was a surprise and they acted quickly because of the transfer portal and Ja signing day.

I know lsu fans know about bama as much as bama fans, but asking bama fans now if I'm remembering this wrong.

Because despite all of Alabama's success, especially under Saban, your fan base can't bring themselves to enjoy it. You only focus on the ones that got away.

Oh that. Do you really believe this?

You might be right about a few people but I think those folks would be miserable as hell anyways no matter what. But, I think Saban is the only one who says he only worries over the ones that got away.

I'll be honest. I never think of those. I never go back and watch even the South Carolina loss back in 2010. Why would I?

I love winning. I never get tired of it. I enjoy every minute of it. It never got old. Not ever. I am in no ways stoic about winning and losing.

But I can tell you it is like heroin in that when you're at that level of winning, when it goes away like it has the last 2 years (2023 and before back to 2020 were actually tolerable believe it or not), there are some serious withdrawal symptoms

2019 does not bother me and I don't think it bothers most of our fanbase. If anything, I pulled for LSU in 2019 (probably because I hate Clemson so much). Even the 2018 Clemson loss does not bother me at all.

There's only really 2 losses that have bothered me since Saban got here (and beyond):

2010 LSU game -- it doesn't bother me too much now because I realize 2010 LSU was actually a very good and underrated team and at that time I felt like we were still in it and should have been able to beat them.

ETA: Sorry, forgot about the 2017 Iron Bowl. That one really drove me nuts but I guess winning the NC that year made me forget it for the most part.

2024 Oklahoma -- they were a bad team and we should have won plus it was beyond obvious we would have made the playoffs had we won and we were not going to make it if we lost.

That's it really.

I'm being 100% honest here. I think you guys really believe some narrative that Bama fans hate LSU. You guys have gotten annoying at times as a fanbase since the Saban era began but LSU is not some program like Notre Dame that we really hated for a very long time and still do to this day. Not that we think less of LSU but I think we give you guys a nod more than you think even if you don't reciprocate.

Surprisingly maybe, we have a lot of LSU fans out here in Colorado Springs and I run into them often. I love talking football with them. I tend to make friends with them more than any fanbase that I encounter out here.

I've witnessed Alabama fans (who I may or may not be related to) dog cuss Nick Saban coached teams from the first game of the season to the last until they won the national championship. Criticizing every mistake. And then when they finally won it say, "Well Okay. We did what we were supposed to do. What else is on?" They literally cannot enjoy it. And it's on full display here.

I don't remember ever being angry during the 2019 season. It was either abstract terror or pure elation.

I wonder why everyone hates LSU so much?

It’s mainly historically mediocre teams that we hired coaches away from. They use LSU as some theoretical measuring stick for their success. Then there’s bama. I haven’t quite figured that one out, yet, except for the fact that some of their weird, cross dressing freaks are allowed to post here, for some reason

Based on Moscana’s tweet. Or do you think those news aggregators each individually verified the info?

"Kiffin isn't leaving Ole Miss"

"Kiffin might be leaving Ole Miss, but for Florida"

"LSU is too poor for Kiffin"

"The Louisiana governor won't allow LSU to hire Kiffin"

"None of the Ole Miss assistants got on the plane with Kiffin"

"Pete Golding is a better head coach and we didn't need those assistants anyway"

"No players are gonna follow Kiffin to LSU"

"Frank Wilson will bring us all the best recruits out of Louisiana"

"Those assistants didn't actually sign a contract with LSU"

"Kiffin is tampering with our roster"

Did I miss any of the bullshite coming from Ole Miss in the last few weeks?

You've been wrong about everything, and you're a bunch of fricking scumbags.

Bama did hire Kiffin before, and all LSU did was offer Kiffin a job and he took it. if you can't handle that then you have serious problem.

Bama fans are so upset about this hire. They must really hate their coach.

As an OC and he was fired because he couldn't properly manage his responsibilities from his new team to his current. He was not even offered or looked at when Saban retired.

I'm not sure what is supposed to be hard to handle here.

They really have been wrong about everything, and then try to rewrite history when it’s obvious how dumb their takes were. And the meltdowns have been glorious, each time they were exposed and called on their bullshite.

I don't think Alabama fans in general, hate LSU.

There are absolutely some posters here though, who claim to be Alabama fans, that clearly have a massive LSU complex.

How exactly did he troll you? By showing some respect to you and saying that it’s a tough decision? Would you have rather he emphatically say hell yes I’m leaving for greener pastures as soon as I can. While yall are still playing football? WTF is with you people? For fricks sake please stop this shite. He’s never coming back and yall are better off and so are we.

Lmao. Go watch the Florida post game conference. All of the social media stuff leading up to that with the Kiffin 26 stuff he reposted knowing he was gone, posting Knox in LSU headphones during the bye week, etc. So many instances. You don't have a clue.
