I'm not sure I understand the hate for AD Mitch Barnhart, he hired Stoops who has finally put UK football in a stable position and if UK can take that next step they will have a chance to make the expanded playoffs
He has a baseball coach in Mingione taking UK baseball to heights the program has never seen and the way they are playing right now just might host a super regional and get to Omaha
Yeah, he whiffed on the big name basketball hire but I don't think Pope is a total miss - let's see what he can do with the brand UK basketball is behind him. All it takes is some tourney success and the recruits are still gonna go to UK. I don't think Calapari got any worse as a coach it's the opponents coaching hires in the SEC that narrowed the gap where it wasn't all talent that UK had over everyone. Now other teams have similar talent with better gameday coaching.
