they should’ve hired someone like Steve Forbes or Kim English. At least there would be some upside there. Pope really seems like a Dooley hire. I don’t know what Kentucky was thinking.

I understand your attempt here, but you only knew you had a dooley hire after a few years of Dooley.

Pope's record suggests his teams improved the longer he coached them. Time will tell. He wasn't a top tier choice, but it's not like he's been a below average coach either.

You guys have been hiring the next Gruden since you fired the Great Pumpkin. How'd that work out?

Lane Kiffin (1 year)
Derek Dooley
Jim Chaney (int)
Butch Jones
Brady Hoke (int)
Jeremy Pruitt
Josh Heupel

And Heupel was nothing more than a bandaid at the time. Danny White struck out on big names and ended up rehiring his G-5 coach. Mighty Tenessee should have a clear idea of how hard it is to get the next Gruden.

That is t true at all. Most of the fan base did not understand this hire and didn’t like it. But we held out hope that he had some sort of ability due to who dad was. Dooley had 1 winning season when the Vols hired him and was coming off a 4-8 season when the Vols hired him. He went 8-5 his 2nd year, and that alone shouldn’t have been enough to make that hire.

That’s not actually true either. Pope 1st year at BYU he finished 2nd in the conference, but post season canceled due to Covid. Then he finished 2nd again during the “Covid” year where arenas wasn’t allowed but half calacity. The last 3 years he had finished 5th in the conference, and he has only made the NCAA tournament twice while at BYU. Good luck in spinning this, but he is most definitely the Dooley of the MBB world, but has the potential to be Butch Jones type.

Tell me you don’t shite, without actually saying it. Heupel was the only t coach that was made an offer. And we are happy the Huep is at UT and he’s just more than a place holder. Since he’s arrived on campus he has competed with Bama every year. And he is only getting stronger, and recruiting will pick up even more once’s the NCAA probation goes away.

Non of these coaches should have been hired to lead a program like Tennessee. Kiffin was being fired for being an embarrassment in the NFL, but he did do some good things, and had he not left for his dream job, UT may not have been down as long as they have been. Heupel is in a class above all these clowns and will show that the longer he is at UT. But if UK can learn anything about coaching hires from UT, it would be you don’t push out a hall of fame coach unless you have a guarantee replacement that is suitable. And neither Vols or UK this time had no one to take the job once pushing out hall of fame coaches.

No one in Orange county wanted that G-5 coach, especially after the train wreck that was the Great Pumpkin as AD. Danny White went small time but that has been the recipe with vile fans for a decade and a half. You're just used to the model. And frankly, your G-5 coach still hasn't gotten any closer to Atlanta than the cheap hirers before him.

Might be because of what his dad did at UGA, but I thought Dooley was going to be a good hire for UTK. I was obviously very wrong about that.

I don't understand the Pope hire at all. Penny Hardaway is a more accomplished coach than Pope. I'm not saying Penny would leave for UK or that UK should have tried to hire Penny, just giving some perspective on Pope's coaching accomplishments compared to coaches that absolutely no one would say would be qualified to be the HC at UK.

I don't really think that was White's fault.

Look at the turnstile of coaches in Knoxville after Fulmer and the NCAA investigation that was ongoing at the time of the Heupel hire.

No big name coach was going to walk into that situation regardless of who the AD was.

More insecurity I see. It's not our fault you little time your football hires. Gruden just never did walk through that door, did he? How many times are you people going to get beat down by Florida and ALABAMA before you realize your place in the SEC pecking order? And now, Georgia is starting to play name that score, year after year. Where's your pride dude?

Sure it does, look harder.

Let's spend a few moments and talk about what VileNation now refers to as the Columbia conspiracy. That was when the Viles went into Columbia Missouri last season and got pounded by Mizzou 36-7. It wasn't that close. The familiarity is that the Viles went into Columbia SC just the year before and got 63 points put on their noggin. Yes, that SC team.

What the hell is wrong with that G-5 coach that this keeps happening in any place called Columbia? And hurry up, I want to talk about Gainesville.

Your cheating, unethical, little sawed-off son of a bitch is gone.

When he couldn't buy the number one team every year, he cut and ran.

You inbred Bammers might as well suck it up. Your day is over. Say it slow and loud, O-V-E-R.
