He needed Bama to be great.

Not a dynasty. You have to have a support network strong enough and facilities.
He could make them pretty damn good though for their level.

To answer your question first, probably not.
He would probably see success at a smaller school similar to what (hush my mouth) Urban Meyer did at Bowling Green for a few seasons.
To have the sustained level of success like he’s had at Alabama he needed a program with the support, passion, and resources Alabama has. Just a handful of those elite programs exist.

I think there’s a fair medium between top-notch facilities and Akron or Toledo level facilities

There's a reason schools are spending hundreds of millions of dollars on facilities...he'd absolutely need top notch facilities to compete with P5 powerhouses.

He would have no problem landed way more top recruits then a G5 team is used to but I don’t think it’s possible for a smaller team to be a dynasty. Could turn them into Boise St. I guess.

There’s evidence to the contrary. Bama didn’t make Saban. Sorry.
Bama most definitely made him the GOAT

I've done it on NCAA 14, so why not?

He could probably do it at any P5 school. Not G5 due to it being impossible for them to make the CFP.

No simply because they wouldn’t have playoff access.
But either one would own the MAC in that scenario

He’s already coached at Toledo. It was his first head coaching job.

Not a chance. He'd improve them a ton but they don't have the facilities or the history to recruit 5 star players.

I don't believe...bama was dynasty before nick .

Here's a better one: if Saban went back Sparty how much different would the results be. Does Michigan State have the support resources critical mass necessary?

No,he couldnt.
Not at WF,BC,Oregon State,Indiana,Syracuse,Minnesota,Kansas,Kansas State,Arizona,Arizona State,Washington State,Vanderbilt,Duke,Kentucky,Pittsburgh,Iowa,Iowa State,Purdue,etc.
He'd have a better shot at going to UCF and perhaps going independent or joining the ACC.
To do what Saban did at Bama you have to have and administration that's "all in",alumni willing to spend millions, recruiting base, name recognition and "total control" of the program.

Has nothing to do with it because the only G5 schools capable of achieving elite status is BYU,UCF and Boise.
