Seriously, would not rule out Campbell our new President came from Iowa St. That would be my pick. Young and has done a good job at a hard place to win. Unlike Chiz who had 5 wins in like 3 years. He is offensive minded, and probably would want to keep Steele and the D staff.

this reminds me - why did Saban never take Chiz or Gus duck hunting?
Saban don't hunt he'd probably rather go to the mall or bed bath and beyond.

He invited Gus over for an oatmeal crème pie social and intimate evening with Zig Ziglar, but Gus kept mumbling about hashbrowns and misdirection and everything just fell apart.

How many fricking times does AU have to pass this guy over before you people figure out he's never going to be the HC at Auburn?

**Not my wishlist, but who AU would go after.
AU could name Steele interim for 2018 with a shot to become permanent, if they need that much time to hire a new AD. Should work pretty well, especially if Chip stays as OC.

Who knows if he's even interested in being HC anymore. May have realized after Baylor he just wants to be a DC.

We would have to pay Iowa State 9 million buyout (Can be done). Likely as he would be willing to keep at least part of the current staff.

Even if Steele isn't interested in being permanent HC, it seems AU should be OK with him as the interim for 2018 if they want/need to get a new AD hired before hiring a new HC.

My problem is that there are a lot of guys like Campbell and Norvell who I really like but I'd like to see another year or 2 from each.
You can see the progression but I want to see them closer to their peak at a lower school. It may not be feasible, but I just feel like we've got a bunch of seemingly good candidates all in year 2 of their first resume gig.
