Urban Meyer would pull out all the stops to have this vetoed.

Honestly, nothing really fits for Alabama from a geographical standpoint. B12 would be the closest, but when I think about it, independent makes the most sense.
Realistically, either B12 or B1G.

Bama goes the Notre Dame route
We get to control our own schedule without the bitching of LSU fans.

A&M, LSU, and Arkansas to Big 12...hopefully without Texas being there. If they are, then there will have to be some concessions as to equality of all conference members.

LSU, A&M, and Arky would invite the Mississippi schools, Oklahoma schools, and maybe Mizzou to form a new conference.

TX, LA, MS, AL and FL would all merge into the GCC. UT, SMU, Miami, and FL State would be additions

ACC: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee (There's not enough room currently, but if the SEC goes, it's likely because the ACC lost some teams)
Big 12: LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M (probably not), Missouri, Ole Miss, Miss State
Big Ten: Kentucky, Vanderbilt

Not if the scheduling was in our favor.

Well, A&M could go anywhere they want. We bring the Texas market, huge resources, and AAU status. Obviously there is huge history with the Big 12 but I don't think there is any rush to get back in bed with Texas. We are very happy with the divorce, love to play them but don't really want to be in a conference with them ever again.
I agree though that A) The post is ridiculous and B) there would be several SEC schools that band together to form a new conference.

I don't think the Big 12 would let us back in tbh.

SoCon II would rise from the ashes but Arkansas and Mizzou might get dropped. They might get the SWC II instead.

Can't do.
AL teams are tied at the hip to Tennessee and Georgia. They'd have to go as a group to somewhere else.

Two big questions:
1. Would ACC accept instate foes from current members? The SEC has a gentleman's agreement that no other instate teams will be allowed in. If the ACC has the same, then UK, Georgia, USC, and Florida all wouldn't be options for the ACC
2. How much does the BIG actually care about academics? If they require all schools to be members of the AAU, then that eliminates everyone except Missouri, Vandy, A&M, and Florida.
If neither of those are issues I think it would go like this:
Alabama- independent
Arkansas- big 12
Auburn- big 12
Florida- ACC
Georgia- ACC
Kentucky- Big 10
LSU- independent
Ole Miss- big 12
MS St- big 12
Mizzou- Big 10
USC- ACC
UT- ACC
A&M- Big 12
Vandy- Big 10
I think the schools that would be most endangered of being demoted to a lower conference would be the Mississippi schools and Vandy.
