so it's not preposterous to suggest that replacing a heisman contending star QB with a true freshman in the 1st quarter had a major impact on the game, I don't think.

Shouldn't you be celebrating the 100th anniversary of your first fake national championship, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of your only real one?

If Oklahoma's Sam Bradford wasn't hurt then Texas wouldn't have even made it to the title game.
See how that works?
See how that works?

Losing your best player and important position on the first drive will support that argument. The fact that a Freshman came in off the bench and had the ball in his hands late in the fourth quarter to take the lead, also says a lot.

Replacing star QBs in championship scenarios has worked out pretty well in the not-too-distant past.

But if Colt hadn't played, I wouldn't have gotten to see his smoking hot g/f prior to the game.

No of course not, but it was "close" in the end because we tried to bleed the clock. You can't really equate "well Gilbert almost won imagine Colt playing" because the game would have played out a lot differently.
Clearly would have been a different game all around.

What a glorious game that was. My roommate was a huge Texas fan and gave me so much shite over Tebow crying and then his boy straight up quit. And he STILL cries about Saban "running up the score" (Trent Richardson's TD run at the end).

Programs that have that sort of situation arise in a national title game are clearly very impressive programs

They did. And then the Big XII gifted them the conference title game.

If you can't take the arse whipping from the Longhorns, don't start the fight.

So you are saying they didn't backdoor their way into the Championship ? That is pretty impressive.

All plays under conference rules are reviewable for egregious clock-keeping errors, even the "last" one.

The funny thing is he didn't slip on a salad bowl the night before the game. Bama PUT his arse out.
