UNC is not coming without Duke. Va Tech is better than UVA. Football is what drives revenue and UVA and UNC are consistently under performers.

Miss State should just join the sunbelt. they have a G5 coaching staff with zero years experience at HC, OC and DC

Picked to finish 10 th next year, I predict they finish 11th with Missouri 10th

MAN, that's harsh.

SEC takes UNC, Duke, Va Tech, Florida St.

B1G takes Clemson, Georgia Tech, UVA, and Miami.

I think UNC and UVA end up choosing the B10 over us and we get FSU and Clemson, which I actually prefer.

Don't know who, but you bet they'll match the B1G in member #'s.

The pie can only be so big and adding more fingers just reduces the payout.

If the pie gets bigger, so will the payouts.

You go up to 24 and could break it in to three 8 team divisions too.

3 (or just about any odd #) divisions makes no sense. Use even #'s for balance.

lol, don't be silly. Our broadcast partners will not put Ohio State or Michigan on that late. USC/UCLA vs Ohio State will be prime-time games.

*ROTFLMAO*

Good luck thinking the B1G will never give USC & UCLA PST prime time slots for OSU or Mich..

How many football titles has this led to for the Big Ten in the 21st century?

Or basketball for that matter. The answer is 2 football (both by OSU and nobody else) and ZERO basketball championships since 2001.

The difference is...

Well I'm not saying it isn't a different situation on a lot of fronts. There is the time element you mention. There's the schools themselves and the measures of what they bring. There's the short/long term goals of the conferences. There is the vested interests of the broadcast media partners.

I'm just saying that at the end of the day the GOR is nothing more than another layer of business arrangement. It is not infallible. It Can be negotiated. It can be bought out. And the networks will have a whole lot of say in how that all plays out. The ACC surely has enough wisdom to know this and see that there truly is no way to keep someone in if the momentum around them is compelling enough to get a deal done. That might not be the case for a few more years. It might even take the rest of this decade (I think there will be an anouncement 3 - 4 years in advance), but the GOR might not even make that much of difference at all when everything is finally bartered away and the new deals inked.

Likewise, I'm certain that when the pieces start to move, no team will be staying to end of their respective GOR. Not a chance.

So.. not saying this will happen.. just curious thoughts.. what if the experiment goes well in Boulder with Coach Prime.. could Colorado be the Westward school Sankey referenced recently?

You took Rutgers and Maryland! The Big is playing Chutes and Ladders.

Also it’s funny how you wound up with NU only to see them die without unlimited partial qualifiers. Nebraska has NO PEOPLE in its boundaries. You could have had MU with St Louis and KC but you tried to short them on conference distros.

The Big just makes one drug addled decision after another.

Colorado school board is very liberal and doesn’t prioritize athletics compared to other options regardless of Prime, who will stay there for probably 2-3 years and go back South.

The only thing more frozen in time than Colorado’s athletic facilities are the Rocky Mountains.

Add? fricking ADD?

How many is enough for cripes sake? We need to start subtracting if anything.
I agree with you, but I think someone laid out the ultimate plan...

Expand somewhere between 20 and 24, then split into 2 strong conferences.
I think that's why it will remain vital to keep layering on top of the core geographic region, instead of leapfrogging across the country. Clemson and Fla State do make sense with that, as does UNC and Virginia.

As an LSU fan, I dislike that model, because it shoves us into the Western (or NEW) bloc, and out of the traditional Southeastern region. I'd rather we keep playing Alabama, Auburn and Florida, instead of being paired with the Texas schools, Arkansas and Oklahoma. But you can clearly see the writing on the wall with that.
The thing that hurts most, is that there aren't truly desirable schools to the West, until you get all the way over to the Arizona schools. That stretches the footprint too much. The ACC targets fit nicely for road trips for the Eastern schools.

They add brand names. Big has tons of viewers bringing in the south is almost no crossover fans. And they were big into contiguous states and aau until they weren’t. The reality is there are valuable non sec brands in the south. There is only one valuable brand in the north non big ten. And notre dame will eventually be big ten

Nebraska was AAU then they kicked their asses out of it, the contiguous sure thats valid and they violate that rule with the new schools

b10 isnt inviting shite academic university into the conference if you cant see that then your just blind I guess since every move they have make involves the academic standing of the schools. Clemson and fsu dont cut it .

Y'know, an interesting target from the Big 10 would be=
NEBRASKA. And steal Kansas out of the Big 12.

Don't laugh and dismiss it outright- Nebraska has great history, and a huge rivalry with Oklahoma. They've been treated like shite by the Big 10, told to sit down and shut up during Covid when they wanted to play. They haven't been a good fit in the Big 10, literally all they are getting is money. They could keep getting money in the SEC, and a far better fit with some traditional rivals. We already have Mizzou, are adding OU, and the best part of the Texas schools with UT and A&M.
Kansas, of course, adds in a basketball power, and a way to piss off Mizzou.

You do that, and the SEC map still looks good. Everything filled in, no gaps.

And it would infuriate the Big 10 to lose someone to the SEC.

some of you freaks are having real trouble recognizing that the b10 approaches this from a different perspective. Not saying its good OR bad but it is a fact

.
shite.
