Nobody

ACC and SEC firewall each other and watch the B1G become bloated mess

Kids today don't appreciate patience and the long game.

No need to be reactive when all the sec has done for the last 30 year is be proactive.

If we want 24 teams, we will take them. But $1 zillion is better split by sixteen programs instead of twenty-four.

Contraction is actually a better move.

unfortunately I don’t think the sec has a say, if the sec had a say everyone would stay put. The big ten nd and unc are the drive behind expansion at this point. Clemson and Fsu are worthless to the sec but invaluable to the big ten. Theyd be worth a small profit loss just to keep em out the big ten. But that’s only IF the big wants them.

The only proactive route the sec has is grabbing unc or beating the big ten out west by snatching wash Oregon Arizona and Utah. The west coast opens a whole new advertising window.

No one said they were, just explaining their value in relation to the sec, if the big ten does go after them it’d be very smart to stop it.

I'm just not convinced that the GOR is anywhere near as infallible as so many preached over the years. We heard:

1. It's non-negotiable (there's nothing to negotiate).
2. It cannot be bought out (there's nothing to buy out).
3. It's IRON CLAD.
4. The networks have nothing to do with it.

Yet here we are with a freshly broken, negotiated downwards GOR with a nice little payout to the conference and a bit of cash and extra thrown towards a network.

They are in fact, funny the good academic schools in the B1G are low key about it. The vocal fanboys are from the dumber B1G schools. Just laugh everytime about that.

Bigger issue is all these discussion are held (and usually wrong) because what fans want is not the same as a college president or board member. Johns - Hopkins spends over 3 Billion a year on research. Would the Top 50 sports schools added together do that kind of coin?

The only real unknown is the dynamic of college presidents. They are more like corporate folks where a 20 year career at a school may now be less than 5. Many are also getting "perked" like their corporate counterparts. Presidents office might get 4 tickets to the Final four, now they get 200 to pass out as they wish.

In the end you can count on greed to kill the golden goose.

heres the deal, you dont have to like it or agreed with it but you (not you specifically ) do have to recognize that different people have different motivations . and in fact not everything necessary comes down to money, someone might want to acquire power or prestige or sexual prowess (doesnt apply in the case of a athletic conference of course haha) for ex.

sure the b10 wants to make money and be a good athletics but honestly they are also looking at other factors, now maybe Clemson recent success outweigh the fact that nobody in the country thinks about academic standards when they think about Clemson I dont know. but there is schools like Washington that are good academics and are pretty high profile with sports something you cant say abt many

anyway those are partly my thoughts I think b10 will try to lock down either California or west coast maybe Stanford and cal or Stanford and Washington.

none of that to say that I even like any of it but still fricking Miz is in SEC lol what is the deal with that

The difference is OU and Texas negotiated to leave one year early. The ACC has more than a decade on the clock: I'm sure FSU and Clemson could negotiate with the ACC to leave one year early as well, but that would still be 2034.

The Big 10 has already over expanded and will eventually pay a price for that. The SEC leads, not follows and I see zero reason for further expansion to either hit some magic number or to "keep up" with Big 10. We're the best conference, by far, and everyone knows it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

SMU, Rice, Tulane to be grouped w/Vandy in the Magnolia division.

Best non playoff team from this division plays the best non playoff team from the ACC out of Wake, Duke, Miami, and Georgia Tech in the Scholastic Hall of Fame Bowl.

They add brand names. Big has tons of viewers bringing in the south is almost no crossover fans. And they were big into contiguous states and aau until they weren’t. The reality is there are valuable non sec brands in the south. There is only one valuable brand in the north non big ten. And notre dame will eventually be big ten

This is the correct answer. However in a hypothetical situation where we have to match their additions, culturally Clemson and FSU are a better fit but I think we go for UNC/NC State and VT/UVA due to the media markets.

Miss State should just join the sunbelt. they have a G5 coaching staff with zero years experience at HC, OC and DC

Picked to finish 10 th next year, I predict they finish 11th with Missouri 10th
