Why on earth would you assume the team who beat two higher ranked teams (per the system being used until the committee's first ranking, bullshite or not..) be ranked lower than the team who beat lower ranked teams
Because I don't value the pre and early season rankings.

I think Auburn move to #5 with a win this weekend. But I think that's as high as they go in the AP until the Playoff Committee rankings come out.

More than likely correct. No way they will let us jump Oklahoma, Clemson or Ohio State, no matter how shitty their schedule is and how tough ours is.

In all seriousness, how in the frick does this make sense?

Auburn beats #6 Wash and #12 LSU
LSU beats #8 Miami and #7 AU

I know yal struggle with math and such, but damn.

For starters, Washington is still ranked in the top 10. Miami is in the 20’s.

Second, Auburn is ranked #7 now and LSU is #12. Auburn has a short climb to the the top 5. LSU is too far back to jump that high.

You guys would have an argument to jump Clemson. Barely beating an Unranked Aggie team won’t bode well with them. Meanwhile, you will have beaten #4 UDub and #11/12 LSU. Wouldn’t surprise me to see them drop with another subpar performance

They would have two wins better than bama, clemson, georgia and ohio state's single best win.

You presume, at least.

Texas A&M may very well be better than LSU and Washington, for example. You have no idea if they are or are not.

Is Washington struggling to score for 3 quarters against an FCS school somehow making them a good opponent? Or am I not giving enough credit to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks? Based on the previous year, ND had a bad defense for an FCS school.

Are you stating that if LSU wins, they should be #1?

South Carolina may very well end up being the best win (Georgia) or Texas A&M (Clemson).

If the CFP committee was ranking teams this early then the winner of this game would be ranked #1.

Correct.

The winner of the Auburn-LSU game will have the best resume through 3 weeks of any team in the country. Does that mean they’re the best team?? ... Maybe, maybe not... That’s a different question. But there’s no question that the Auburn-LSU winner will have the best resume through 3 weeks of play. Everyone agrees on that, because it’s factual and not subjective.

By the time the first playoff poll comes out, we'll have wins over Washington, LSU, Miss St, Ole Miss & A&M...

We'll be a resounding #1

It's only room for 1 team from the SEC. So, move your arse to back of the short bus

Rankings at this point mean absolutely nothing. Ask former number ones from the state of Mississippi.

They blow us out Saturday, they'd make a good case just Alabama, tOSU, and OU are simply too loaded and still undefeated and dominant to be supplanted this early

If there were playoff rankings released on Tuesday, I'd agree with you.

But since there aren't, just no.

They would have the best resume so far, but that's not how rankings by themselves work, for better or worse.
