Actually this presents a scenario I didn’t think about that could bring Texas into question. However, the likelihood of A&M winning the SEC coupled with Texas being left out of that group is ridiculously low.
Miami would be out in that scenario though, I think that’s a pretty easy one to pull out of that group. Their resume wouldn’t stack up. Indiana is in as long as they don’t shite the bed against Purdue.

We may lose but it won't be a blowout. I don't expect much from Quinn at all. maybe he'll surprise me

Nah. They'll say Texas has a capable and "proven" back up in Arch Manning. This won't be the reason Texas gets left out, if it does.

Who did Arch prove himself against? Miss State?

So you're missing my point. It is not that I necessarily think Arch Manning is a proven QB (albeit he has looked good in the two games he started). However, I do believe Texas will get a pass on the so-called FSU scenario mentioned.
Why? 1) Manning has started and won 2 games. 2) Texas has a very good defense. 3) It is good business to have Texas in the playoffs whether they "deserve" it or not.

You must have missed the point where Bama, Ole Miss, & Texas A&M all picked up a 3rd loss.
The CFP is not going to pass up on a 10-2 SEC team this year no matter how much you try to wish it into existence.
Sounds like someone doesn't want a rematch

Yes, Texas is a lock no matter what happens from today.
Texas will bring as many eyes to their cfp game(s) as any other team, if not more. Texas is loved and especially hated, even more so than Notre Dame. All those horns down yahoos we see on any broadcast game will tune in.
You got to be outside your ever loving mind not to see that espn isn't salivating over the numbers Texas will pull. Other teams qill pull also, I'm not saying just Texas. OSU, Georgia, etc. will pull also.

Calm down commie.

Texas is not the ONLY lock.
That’s what the post that I responded to said.

More than fsu backup last year, that kid was atrocious.
And again 4 team playoff is much different than 12 team

as long as we don't lose big we are in regardless how the SECG goes. I'm not saying I think we deserve it. I just think that's how it will play out.

Considering how putrid Purdue is (and I'm a half-hearted Purdue fan), Indiana would have to have explosive Krystal/Taco Bell/Captain Ds-level diarrhea to shite this bad.

SO if Ags Tenn and GA with this weekend.
Ags bet Georgia. You saying Texas goes instead of GA?
Tenner in onver GA ?
Just because GA has one more loss that being in the Champ game?
I thinkg GA gets in over one of TN or TX. We not getting 4.

If Georgia loses to GT then maybe Texas is left out.

We are saying all four would get in. ACC loser would be out…

If Texas loses to A&M, they're likely still in it regardless.
However, I think the unbalance schedules the mega-conferences are creating coupled with the chaos at the end of this season is going to force the committee to start to practice more like the basketball committee.
The unsavory talking points are certainly going to center around stuff like:
Team A = 3-2 against Top 25
3-1 against Top 26-50
Team B = 0-2 against Top 25
3-0 against Top 26-50
Team B #6 seed.
Team A not in playoffs.

You make a fine point if criteria is more deserving, but I’m betting the criteria becomes about better.
Dude just gave you stats about six common opponents showing one is clearly “better”.
It seems that your definition of “better” is subjective to whatever your eyes see. At some point, wins and losses matter, stats matter.

Maybe so.. or maybe they already do..
Texas for example has 0 ranked wins according to the AP and Coaches Poll.. but..
Texas has 2 ranked wins according to Sagarin.
16 Oklahoma (34-3)
20 Florida (49-17)
Texas has 3 ranked wins according to Massey.
19 Oklahoma (34-3)
22 Florida (49-17)
24 Michigan (31-12)
So which poll do you use to determine who has beaten ranked teams and who hasn't?
