2020 Bama is overrated due to it being covid season. Saban was the perfect coach to navigate that mess - highly organized, plans for everything, backup plans for everything, and extra staff to implement and follow players to help avoid forced quarantines and isolations. Saban did most of that stuff already and just adapted it to situation. Seemed to be first big name to get that backup test opportunity when Saban first tested posted.

Ed was the opposite end. His plan was just to get them all infected during the summer forgetting the contact rules return after 90 days.

It’s likely the school worked with Saban where as some schools like LSU the school got more rigorous in testing students including testing sewage to find out where to test about the time 90 days was up for most players. Ed was too busy screwing a co-ed to work with the administration.

Most coaches were closer to Ed than Saban in how they handled covid and level of organization.

2020 is absolutely an asterisk season and never should have been used as basis for much. A&M signed extension with Jimbo based on covid season. Indiana was good the big 10’s 6 or 7 game season and then went 2-10 in 2021. Rescheduling of some games and not others including the extension of regular season to play those rescheduled games. Crowds were minimal with little home field advantage. Players opting out. pac 12 and big 12 allowed to start half way through and just play 6 or 7 games and still get a team into the 4 teams picked for championship play off.

Change 2 plays the other direction (Tua fumbling inside the 10 and throwing a terrible INT end of 1st half inside own 25) and Alabama is running out the clock on their last drive.

Bama still would not have won. Every time Alabama posed a threat, Joe Burrow marched LSU the length of the field for another touchdown.

2020 Alabama team was clearly better than 2019 Alabama. So your logic makes no sense.

No. They weren’t. They simply played easier schedule without true road games and. OST teams dealing with significant opt outs.

2020 Bama is one of the top 5 offenses of all-time in college. They were literally putting in the 2nd string by half time in most games. Far better than 2019 LSU who Alabama came close to beating.

And LSU is the #1 all time

Bama doesn’t get any credit covid season too many opt outs. Even if it wasn’t a covid year they wouldn’t touch LSU 2019

2019 LSU 46 - Bama 41

2020 LSU 17 - Bama 55

Bama 2020 could have given NFL teams competition on offense.

Anyone with a brain knows 2019 LSU would curb stomp 2020 Bama. The score was as close as it was in 2019 because our coaches took Derek Stingleys attention away from Devonta Smith and he ran right by him. We all know this to be truth.

I'd give the edge to Bama. 2019 LSU's defense had some issues and almost lost at home to true freshman Bo Nix.

2020 Bama had 48 points hung on them by unranked Ole Miss.

Winning by 15 on the road > winning by 3 at home.

That offense was unreal. They rarely got to finish a game the entire year. Defense needed a little work but you can't have it all. Closest game all year was Florida by 6 points.

We're talking about 2020 Alabama when 2019 Alabama probably wins that game 5 times out of 10
