I only ever played baseball, so I would help him with second base and left field. I'd encourage him to play football though.

Looks like my son is going to be a lefty. So, pitcher, if he has the aptitude.

Also don't knock soccer. They are usually in better shape than the 3 main sports.

I was always anti-soccer until I had a kid. Now I'm looking forward to him being old enough to start playing. Seems to be a good way to get exercise and develop coordination at a young age. That being said, all I know about soccer is you try to kick the ball in the goal to score a point.

All kids like soccer ... they get older and migrate to the popular sports like football, baseball, etc.

My son is two.

If he played football I'd teach him to be a DB or RB. He probably will be around 5'10".

I'd let him play basketball, but the chances of a 5'10" guy making it in basketball are slim. Wouldnt crush his dream though.

I personally hope he takes a liking to baseball. His great grandfather was good at it. My dad was good at it. I was good at it. So one would assume it is a good sport for him to play.

My son is four. My original plan was that he would be a LHP, however, he's clearly right-handed. My backup plan is that he will be a switch-hitting utility infielder... the kind of guy who might never start, but will be in MLB forever.

Golf.

What other sport can you be any size, any shape (from Tiger to fatass John Daly) and if you've got the skill which can be learned over time, make millions in winnings and endorsements?

I'd probably go with basketball. CBB needs some pure shooters so that's where I'd start.

Played for several years myself. I'd be pretty stoked about it actually. Play overseas and buy Momma a vacation house in Tuscany.

I'll have my first son in 15 days (give or take). I want him to play baseball, but it's hard to project what position he should to play until i see what body type he has. We're going to let him play most of the big sports depending on the season though.

I'd be down for whatever sport/position he wants, or even if he doesn't want to play sports at all.

And I like Soccer so no problem there either.

Golf, no doubt.

If he is good enough to make it big time, he can play and make tons of money until hes in his 60's. If he isn't good enough for the pros (most likely outcome) it is still extremely beneficial to be good at golf in the business world.
Im a big time football/baseball guy that's for sure, but I hope that his main sport becomes golf

Yep. And even if you're not good enough to stick on the tour if you get hooked up with the right club you can earn a nice living as a club pro and play golf every day.

Aaron Craft, the best on the ball defender in the NCAA credits his footwork to soccer, FWIW.

I have a son who just turned 4. He loves just about every sport possible. If I had to say his favorites are Bowling...no clue how this happened...and baseball. He insisted on us pitching to him at 1 1/2. Bats left and throw right. Our daughter is 20 mo so who knows...maybe Gym Dawg!

I played soccer my whole life and coached club for a few years. So, if soccer was his sport than I am fine with that.
