2017 Pruitt, not 2016 Pruitt right?

I'd take Plainview HS (2000) defensive coordinator Pruitt. Golding may be a savant on the whiteboard, but it doesn't translate to in game adjustments, prep, and motivation that the D-coord needs.

When is the last time he kicked a whiteboard on the sideline? D players go all out for Germy. It is a passionate game. Golding simply doesn't inspire... or consistently get the defense in position to either anticipate the offense or force them to react to create opportunities.

I don't see anything. I'm not qualified to decide such things. I just listen to what Nick Saban actually says about things is all, and don't listen to fake arse insiders.

And hell, any of us can see the lack of effort in the team etc. I'm not sure how that falls on the DC, other than it's as far uphill as most Alabama fans have the balls to take it. Seems like it falls on the entire coaching staff and players to me. They are ALL responsible, not just Golding.

That's not Golding's defense out there, it's Saban's. The only thing Golding does is call plays etc. Saban hires them to run his defense, not to run Golding's own defense. And he seems to do a decent job of that most of the time. Good adjustments are normally made at halftime, #1 defense last year.

Fire him, and the next guy is going to run the same exact defense. Only they are more likely to be worse and know things less etc. 3 years Saban has been grooming him. Everything we do is either designed by Saban, or approved by Saban. And if Golding is out there fricking up, I'm quite sure Saban is on his arse about it more than any of us could be.

Maybe some complaints could be thrown towards the ILB coaching, which he is responsible for. Because they sure as shite didn't stop the run. I'm hoping it's motivational, otherwise - multiple losses inc.

In the end, we have Nick Saban and I think he may know what the hell he is doing. I trust him, I don't know why Alabama fans have insisted they know better than him for the past 3 years.

If Saban fires Golding, I'm hoping for Pruitt.

But even he has laid a few eggs over the years.

I think this is where most of us think the issue is. Not his play calling, though there have been a few play calls that weren't the greatest. That is a part of him maturing as a coach. The issue is the Ilb. What should be a strength is not.

I wonder if Saban's age isn't making him softer on his coaches. I know he got rid of kiffin. What other coaches has he fired?

Is it motivational or technique etc? That's the question. To me it looked motivational/focus/mental. Not wrapping up on tackles, not getting off blocks, not following assignments. Which should be pretty fixable.

And he's only the ILB. Nobody seems to be calling for Vinnie Sunseri to be fired, he's the OLB coach.

Tosh was the last.

But he's fresh off a National Championship and is still bringing in the talent. I'm not going to question him over a 2 point road game win in week 3 against the #11 team.

I'm just going to continue trusting Saban. For as much as he doesn't say to the media, he says a good bit. He'd be talking about coaches needing to do a better job etc. He won't be specific, but he will say it. Instead he talks about the players not putting the effort in. Maybe he is telling the truth?

Gawd, we are becoming LSU, or Ohio State now. This was a game we needed to prepare for the rest of the season.

I'm pretty sure that is going away with some very minor ncaa sanctions and a negotiated settlement with Pruitt.

In other words, it's a deal.

Yeah, he's definitely not the same guy as the last 2 yrs.

Bama is young and missed tackles in a raucous environment were the reasons our defense played so poorly in the end.

P.S. you'll see a different defense against Ole Miss. May not win but we'll be better.

Tell them who you want for goodness sake. I'll throw another 5 star in there for Barry Odom. I just feel for 2.5 million a year we ought to at least have someone capable of scheming an option play.

We'll take Pete Golding as an analyst and we also want two 5 stars in 2022 and another in 2023

Give you 12 rolls of ankle tape, one Collin Raye CD and one complete set 1982 Knoxville World's Fair spoon collection

Except when it comes to Bryan Harsin.

On that subject you’re a goddam genius. Or so you tell us.

He's the head coach with almost a 10 year record, not a guy brought in to run someone else's system. Much easier.

Say what you want, but I told you Penn St would cover. Not only did they cover, they doubled the amount they needed to do so.

Because as any Boise St fan will tell you - he doesn't win the big games. I think in his entire time at Boise St, he managed to beat an over ranked #10 Arizona team in a bowl game his first year. I can't really think of anything else, maybe you can find one in the top15.

Will he wash Saban's car like Butch Jones. With NIL, O is no longer a liability.
