OK honestly brings very little to the conference. Unless the state legislature agreed to separate the schools, OK and Okie lite come as a package deal, so you'd have 2 schools with few TV sets, poor academics and, outside of football, average programs. And when Gundy eventually leaves Okie Lite, their football program becomes very suspect.

Are you retarded?

Between 35-40k on their main campus. Not so much a commuter school on their main campus. Many students live on their main campus lots going on during the weekends there. One of my sons attend UCF and there is always something going on. Their stadium is small in comparison to SEC schools but usually sold out. If they put money behind their teams they could be a juggernaught with the amount of alums and money they could bring in

One BCS bowl and this mouth breather wants them in the SEC.

Maybe we should invite Louisville? How about Hawaii?

We have enough guidos already. No Louisville.

But who? With the grant-of-rights deal, it won't be an ACC team. We are at 14 for a long time I think.

Honestly, I think you're right.

UCF and USF are two fast emerging schools in Florida. The Big 12 would do well to take both of them.

According to Bob's Rules of Order, a nomination does not require a second as it is not a motion. Proceed.

I think UCF should join the ACC - I think that would be a good fit for them

B12 won't take them the traveling would be a big problem. West Virginia out on an island is bad enough for them. You think Texas gives a damn about going to UCF?

I'm guessing the only pre-req to be accepted at UCF is to be breathing? Correct?

UCF will be in the Big XII within 5 years. I think the tea leaves say that each conference with have a championship and each conference will have 9 conf games scheduled.

Uniformity of schedule among the big conferences will be a reality.

Orlando sucks balls. Have you ever been out of the parks?

Let's put it this way. I'm puerto rican and I avoid Orlando connecting flights to San Juan. I took one the other day, and I experienced a lot of self hate. I would never live in Orlando. Never.

Let's just leave it t that.

UCF should be considered next SEC expansion.

#1 NO new market, Gators are already #1 in FL - adding UCF would be like adding Texas Tech or Houston. Being SEC means being #1 or #2 in your home state. right now FSU is probably #2 and Miami is #3. UCF would be at least #4 or #5.

#2 No endowment to speak of, Gators have an endowment of 1.3 Billion, and the SEC average is 1.5 Billion. UCF has an endowment of 125 million - or 1.375 Billion BELOW the SEC average. Even the MS schools have endowments 2x or 3x greater than UCF.

#3 No academic prestige, Gators are AAU and UCF is not - while UCF may get better academically over time they are not there yet. SEC can wait to see if the academics go up in the next decade or two.

#4 Not strong in non football sports, Gators have multiple NCAA championships in multiple sports. No basketball Finals Fours in Div I for men or women. No CWS or WCWS appearances in baseball or softball.

#5 Facilities are not SEC size.
Football Stadium = 45,000 (would only be bigger than 1 SEC football stadium) - needs to be 70,000 - 80,000 to be SEC acceptable
Basketball Arena = 10,000 - needs to be 14,000 - 16,000 to be SEC acceptable. SEC has 2 venues over 20,000
Baseball Park = 4,000 - needs to be 6,000 - 8,000 to be SEC acceptable. SEC has multiple venues over 8,000 and baseball continues to grow in the SEC so it may be a short period of time before all the SEC parks (except the cold weather ones) are at least 6,000 minimum.

In short, look at the "average" for each one of theses metrics and see if UCF is above or below. If they are below they are an anchor, and if they are above they are a sail.

Texas A&M was #2 in TX, offered new markets, had a big endowment, was an AAU school, had multiple National Championships, and had SEC sized passion and facilities. Mizzou was #1 in MO, offered new markets, had AAU status, and has financial capacity to grow to SEC average metrics. Most of their sports facilities will be upgraded and online in the next 2 years to meet SEC standards.
