As good as he is on the field, he also impressed me with his interview during SEC Days; great perspective and great attitude...

Other than Will Anderson and maybe Drew Sanders, who on Bama's roster would replace a starter at UGA? They have a much, much better defense at this point. They certainly tackle much better.

You didn't specify defense; just because the thread is about a defensive player doesn't mean we can just infer from your statement that you only mean defense.

As for who would start over who? That's an interesting question. Alabama has faced significantly better offenses than Georgia, so their starters might give up more yards but get better stats because those offenses can stay on the field a bit longer.
Georgia has faced the #118, #84, #115, #120 and #55 teams in total offense.
Alabama has faced #38, #10, #124, and #3 (and an FCS team).

So, you know... context.

I always find it odd when someone praises a player (in this case, at Georgia) that isn't a fan of the same team (in this case, Alabama), that there's always THAT fan who has to shite all over the OP's team to feel better. Why is that?

I don't really think I shite on the team. I'm a UA fan not UGA but it's just my opinion. I said this is the kind of guy that would probably be at Alabama in years past. He's a great player we both agree. I would love to see him at Alabama. Yes I'm aware of UGA opponents lack of offensive firepower. I also know that Alabama had more trouble than should be expected with the Southern Miss offense. Kentucky shut down a Gator offense that UA could not stop. Hopefully Alabama can improve on defense. They miss a lot of tackles, their safety play is suspect, all most every long throw is a PI in the making...they have a lot of work to do.

I’m impressed you did that. Not a lot of people do that in today’s world. People either stick to their guns, or have no interest in seeing if other people were actually correct

Well, against Southern Miss, Alabama was up 35-0 when they got their first score on a shortened field. The second TD came after an INT with Alabama up 49-7. Southern Miss got a lot of drives due to the speed in which Alabama scored; if the offense had taken the power approach, we don't score in the 60s but USM gets about half the number of drives.

Also, Florida shut down their own offense as much as Kentucky did.

Look man, you're making me do this and I don't want to because I am loving the Kentucky feel good story, but Florida literally blew off their own feet with point blank shotgun blasts. At least two drives had 3rd and short that got fricked up by penalties (a 3rd and 1 deep in Florida territory turns into a 3rd and 11 with two false starts, and a false start on 3rd and 3 at the Kentucky 37 turns a probable first down or at least potential long FG into a forced pass and punt). That doesn't even include the false start on the final drive that put it from 2nd and goal from the 9 to 2nd and goal from the 14.

Kentucky may still win that game even without all those false starts killing drives, but to give all the credit to Kentucky's defense without acknowledging the penalties is being a bit dishonest.

Yeah, I've never understood that mentality myself. I'd rather correct my errors than stick to them and be wrong. While it is true that the phrase "Jordan Davis is the best DL in college football" is a subjective opinion (as opposed to an objective one), it's definitely a subjective opinion I hold after enough people pointed out information I simply did not have.

Jordan Davis would be on Bama's roster if Kirby Smart were still DC at Bama. In fact, many of the super players UGA has on defense now would be at Alabama. It was inevitable Kirby at Georgia would pull many of those top tier guys to Georgia. Alabama has some good players but down by the standards of years past. Where did they go? Look at Georgia..there they are.

The best defender on either team is 31 at Alabama. A kid from Georgia that Kirby Smart didn’t even offer

What class was that and what qualifies it as the best recruiting class ever?

I would take Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Adam Anderson over Anderson.
Carter will be a higher draft pick.

Op great post. Some Alabama fans on this website are so freaking insecure that can’t admit a lock for a top 10 pick, barring injury, who weight as much as a Mack truck and runs a 4.8 and happy enough to eat double teams for his teammates to destroy everyone might be better than a player on their team
