Only schools that have black as a school color should wear black. In the SEC that would be Vandy, SC, Georgia and Mizzou (I don't think I missed any). You don't see Vandy or Mizzou wake up one day and say... hmmm, lets wear red, or Geogia or South Carolina wearing Orange.

But at least they use (a version of) green in each…right?

Except for when they wear all yellow, all white, all black, pink and black, blue and yellow "webfoots" and every other combination of white/green/yellow unis they can think of.

Every team has bad uniform combinations. I don't care for the gold on gold unis for LSU.

Wish we would just stick to maroon & white only. We started incorporating grey in our uniforms during Moorehead’s tenure. I thought it made us look like faggies so kill it with fire. Baseball team had success back in Mangum days so I’ll allow it.

While we are at it, powder blue is for sissies

Ditto - and I hate the black baseball even worse. Don't recall them wearing them in a while but the pants and shirts didn't even match.

I thought Auburn's mascot was a Tiger?

Why do they yell war eagle and worship a bird?

Im usually not a fan of black alternates either. But State's actually looked pretty cool.

I guess the black and maroon are pleasing to my eye because I kind of like South Carolina's too with the garnet. I think they wear theirs too often though.

I too am mystified by schools claiming multiple mascots.

Another example is Alabama which yells Roll Tide, presumably because when the tide rolls in nothing can stop it. The closest analog to the bama mascot is Tulane's and they are all in with the Green Wave. Not so much Alabama which also has a dude in an elephant suit. You'd think they'd have picked something with a nautical theme to go with the tide like a fish or a cetacean but no, they have a freakin elephant as Mascot2.

BTW, is there a person in a tide suit at bama games? Anyone?

The interlocking MSU helmets are back in the rotation for State now. They’ve already announced they are wearing the white interlocking MSU helmets for the Tennessee game and will wear the maroon interlocking at some point this year, perhaps more than once.

I agree that a return to the Sherrill era uni’s full blast is the next move.

They did these and it made absolutely no sense to me? There's zero silver in their colors.

I thought Auburn's mascot is a Tiger, why is an Eagle flying around pre-game?

Why do all schools have alternative uniforms? Cash grab marketing by universities and sponsoring athletic companies by using different color schemes for home games. Our herd mentality simply falls in line by buying 7 different color schemes for 7 different games. Big business. In States case, we have 32 logos in addition to the maroon, white, grey and black combo possibilities. Burger King has nothing on MSU.
