How many times have you seen Bama fans say something like, Auburn could be winless, as long as they beat us, they'll be happy cause that's all they live for?

Hypothetically speaking... If the Bama fans that you've heard say that WERE right about what they say, wouldn't Auburn have the exact complex they were refering to??

Btw i didn't click on link

Video dont lie dude, the face of Bama football for four years basically said, all they want to do is beat Auburn. Something Bama fans said was the mindset of Aubies..

That has always been the Bama midset. Hell, they fired/ran off Curry after going 10-0 (first time since 1979) because he lost to AU in 1989.

SURELY, you don't think that's the ONLY reason...

All coaches have to beat their rival. Curry had his shot at it... and we were only Perkins away from Beat Bryant... So yeah... The word perspective comes to mind.

Bottom line, Auburn HAS and always WILL look up to what we've done until they are our historical equal.

Think about the context Brodie is talking within. Alabama was probation ridden, coaching starved, and had lost four straight to Auburn at that point in time. Alabama was in bad shape at that point, and there wasn't much else to play for. That being said, the Auburn game is important, but I also think the Tennessee game is as important. Let's be honest, if a bad season was to happen, beating those two would be something to hang one's hat on, in otherwise disappointing circumstances.

on my iPhone, but I'd think that our histories differences are well documented.... oh, and I think we both know that we both want to represent the great state of Alabama... and we know how both teams have done a fine job. it's just that one team HAS done better than the other.

This is not really true. As a whole, AU looks down at the University of Alabama in many ways. We consider our school and fan base to be superior and better as a whole. In athletics, we realize Bama has had a better football program at times, but know it is not a given and the only real reason was Bryant (who is dead FYI). We know we were better than Bama before Bryant and after Bryant. Now we realize Bama has Saban and things will be difficult. However, Aubies still believe our university, fans, and alumni are superior to the university of alabama and would not trade anything Auburn for anything Bama.

That is the truth.

If either side says they don't care about this rivalry they are full of sh!t. You won't lose this rivalry often and stay a coach at either school for long unless you are bringing home some major hardware in that time as well.
