Its extremely treatable and having it should not result in people freaking out. 99.9% will recover.

Either the election or just human nature has blown this way out of proportion.

It’s all about the attorneys who’ll be sitting in the rooms during discussions.
No school wants to be liable for a single negative outcome.

THIS. THIS. T-H-I-S. THISSSSSSS.

Good lord people, THIS.

If one player suffers a long-term negative effect, or heaven forbid, dies because of COVID-19 - the schools will suffer even heavier financial losses than they already will with no fans in the stands.

If the school shutters in-classroom instruction because of COVID and an athlete has to stay on campus for football, it's game over. Not just in terms of dollars, but that sweet, sweet shield of amateurism the NCAA needs for its schools to protect their margins.

View it more as an act of God...

Just was your time.

Otherwise people should never leave their house.

untrue, many states have enacted laws protecting private and public entities against this type of suit unless there is gross negligence. doesn't mean you won't get sued but you will win. how can you prove where a 19 yer old caught it> Impossible

This is no different than the dangers that are faced every year with beefed up machines ramming into each other head on at 15mph for 4 hours every Saturday.

It has blown out of proportion, because people are stupid in group think. So many questions aren't answered, or even asked.

What is the recovery rate?
What is the recovery rate for each age group?
What is the hospitalization rate for each age group infected?
What are the exact criteria to determine the deaths attributed to covid?
Are those criteria applied universally to every state, county and city in the U.S.?

I would be willing to place a monetary bet that every single talking head calling for the cancellation of sports this year hasn't got a clue to the answer for any of these questions, nor do they care. Society is all about the next shiny thing to distract and this is just a mechanism to blame certain people to effect changes that some want to see. Imho of course.

We had two recent positives for patients undergoing pre op testing for surgery and both of them were completely asymptomatic. One had their test repeated and it came back positive. 4 weeks after her surgery, she remained asymptomatic. The fact is, many people will get it and an extremely small percentage will get very sick and another extremely small percentage will die. The risk of getting in a car, getting in an accident and dying, is much higher for these players than Playing football and getting infected with covid and dying.

Liberal politicians perspective is to shut down sports. Y’all put your heads back in the sand and I’ll go back to the political board.

I don't understand how you can be liable for a virus that you don't intentionally spread. It is illogical to blame someone else for getting sick unless that person straight up coughs on you or gives you an sti on purpose.

vitamins, fluids, and rest seems to have worked for millions so far. The ones that even realized they had it I should say.

Legal liability and lack of insurance coverage. Those are your issues.

A declared global pandemic like Covid-19 is not a normally assumed risk for a college football player.

they have the option to OPT OUT, not to mention the death rate for 18-21 year olds with no comorbidities is basically 0%. But, alas, lawyers gonna lawyer.

What about the 166K Americans who are already dead? And more dying each day. We are heading toward 200K +. The flu it ain't.

I hope there's a season but if even one kid is going to be affected from COVID because of it then they should not have the season, and that's just the Truth.

edit: Changed it from died to affected from covid, because for every person that dies of Covid many more are getting lung damage and other kinds of permanent organ damage.

It's not an act of God... It is an act of the Chinese people either fricking with it in a lab, or eating animals not intended for human consumption.

And, it isnt just the death rate, but the symptoms and health issues further down the road as well.

Dang man. I love college football and think that we should attempt to find a way to play. But just because I try to live my life ready to meet my maker, doesnt mean i want to do so sooner by walking in front of a semi, or catching covid 19.

No one believes 166K has died because of the Chinese Flu - especially the ones pushing those numbers. They know how intellectual dishonest the reporting of these numbers have been from the outset. They’re the ones fabricating these stats.
