Indiana is the #1 team in the country with a Heisman QB. 2023 they were 3-9

It’s not like the old days with the new transfer portal. Indiana’s story should tell you everything you need to know. Even Brian Kelly took a team with 30 something returning scholarship players to the SEC championship game the next year.
Just expand the playoffs and do away with these bowls. To make matters worse LSU aways seems to have way more opt outs than the opponent. Our backup QB is playing against A&M’s former starting QB. Our defense has mostly 2nd teamers.

Power 4 conference champ Duke lost to poor little DEI Tulane. Would they have fared any better on the road at Ole Miss or Oregon today?

You’re missing the point, the committee needs to go back to a bcs type ranking. This DEI BS is embarrassing.
quote:

I guess you don't realize how much of a talent difference there is. Hell UT San Antonio beat Tulane this year by double digits....OM blew them out bigtime, both times. OM got by LSU by 5. Every single SEC team would be favored.

And to make matters worse James Madison is worse than Tulane.

never jump from a 4 team to 12. shoulda been 8 MAX.

12 is not the problem it’s the 12 best. Not one person that seriously follows college football would objectively say Tulane or James Madison is one of the top 12 teams.
quote:

No. These games prove there are too many teams in the playoffs

Wrong, there are too many DEI teams, 2 and there should be 0.
quote:

The committee itself is woke and ignorant. Leaving out Notre Dame and Vanderbilt was nuts. We've waited decades for playoffs and we have an incompetent committee pairing these teams? One step forward. Two steps back.

Leaving them out for a 2 loss 20th Tulane team and a 24th ranked James Madison team is the travesty. Think how much better Notre Dame - Ole Miss and Vandy - Oregon games would have been.
This is an absolute joke. Win a P4 conference championship or be ranked higher enough to get in. No DEI for G5 teams!

Sorry, but Tulane and JMU both made the playoffs per objective criteria established before the season - being one of the five highest rated conference champions. Tulane beat the ACC champ head to head.

Nothing objective about DEI. Tulane got routed by the only P4 team they played and lost by more than one score to a 6-6 G6 team.
38 point blowout and counting.

8 teams ranked higher than Tulane

were left out of the Playoffs. CFP DEI is alive and well. Just wait until James Madison ( ranked 4 spots behind Tulane) makes their glorious appearance.

I would rather not go to the playoff than lose in the first round.

At home in the first round (fixed it)

100000 Aggie fans with no where to go!
Even if it’s a 2 year guy you still have to recruit him to stay in his second year.

This puts it in perspective:

Importance of HS recruiting pre portal -
Extremely important

In 2025 - somewhat important

Franks RB coaching ability is questionable
NIL and the portal have neutered the importance of having top recruiters on your staff. High School players are saying show me the money.

LOL at all the left leaning chaps angrily smashing the downvote button over the DEI comments here and on MSB.

Both the coach and the AD at Michigan were DEI hires. Read today the AD will keep his job and lead the coaching search. Does anyone believe if the AD were of another ethnicity he would have a job today after his second scandal?
Never liked Archie Manning, this is just icing on the cake.

No sisters of the poor teams

No conference championships. P4 champs go automatically using regular season tiebreakers, Rest of 16 field is based on highest ranked teams. No DEI for non P4 teams like James Madison or Tulane. This will force non P4 schools to to schedule more than 1 non conference P4 team.
NCAA CFP selection committee doesn’t deserve a classy response. They have totally f’d up the playoff selection process. You have lower ranked teams in James Madison and Tulane with cupcake schedules getting in and teams like Vandy, Notre Dame, and Texas that are higher ranked with significantly harder schedules left out. This is not the 12 best FBS teams in the country. I thought this country was done with DEI hires.
