They need to add a few more big cities without an NFL team.. If they can get that to 12 I think it'll be great for the league.

Need to add:

St Louis
Portland
Columbus
OKC

Just said this.

Add Vegas if the Raiders don't leave Oakland, add San Jose/Sacramento, somewhere in the Northeast or maybe Toronto...

As long as they can continue to attract players from the big colleges, I think they can succeed.

Player recognition is huge to attracting a casual audience and building the brand. If they can get the Tebows and Richardsons and maybe even the McCarrons of the world to sign up to play, then there will be continued interest. No one wants to watch random players from Akron or Pittsburgh St. play mediocre football - which is what you get in the Arena Leagues.

I wonder and bet it would break a lot of NCAA rules, but could a team lets say Utah and byu have a direct pipeline to SLC team? And use this as a safety net for kids in case they dont make the NFL right away

AAF also needs to show and mention the schools they went too. Every time a players name appears, it should show the university too.

What gets me is mizzou has two player sin the AAF. Which is cool and all, but there are dozens of better Mizzou players who have recently moved on that arent playing in the NFL. What I wonder is if those players declined, of the AAF did a bad job reaching out to higher talent.

Google shows that the average salary is around $80,000. While that is well below NFL money, that's still pretty good money and should be enough to attract guys looking to make a run at an NFL gig.

Maybe but how many iterations of an alternative pro football league have come and gone? I hope it succeeds simply because that gives us more variety but I won't be surprised if it tanks.

Are any of you old enough to remember the United States Football League? It was a spring league started in early '80s. do any of you remember the World Football League, I think that was the name of it? It played out before the USFL, I believe.
Rod Smart remembers.

If I were AAF I wouldn't be ridged about the starting QB all the time. Sims was named starter for the Atlanta Legends and they lost big. When the legends play at home it would be smart to let Aaron Murray start.

Placate the locals and change a losing game.

USFL:Failed

The USFL failed because they got cocky and moved from a spring league to a fall league. It was great football. They talked with Gary Danielson on the radio today and he said they have very smart people running the aaf and they have studied why all those other leagues failed and they are going to try to avid those. I hope it succeeds - more football is good thing

I think that’s a good comparison. Don’t remember much about the WFL but remember the USFL well. Trump hurt the USFL by wanting to move it to the fall. The AAF is like Triple A baseball. Which can be enjoyable if are a true fan. As long as the league don’t getting in a biding war with the NFL like the USFL did I think it can make it.

XFL is going to start in February 2020. St. Louis is one of the 8 teams to participate. Is AAF the same as this XFL? I am confused since I am new to this new football league.

This should help bring back fans in St. Louis area and could attract college football recruits to play for Mizzou? Two football league in Missouri is good. Kansas City-NFL, St. Louis-XFL.
