And this factoid justifies Tennessee being a Big 6 member, how?
All times wins, conference titles, national titles makes UT the Big 6. Only bama has more titles than UT in the SEC.

Georgia does have more SEC titles now, 14 to 13. And LSU is one behind, with 12. Those are the 4 teams with double-digit conference titles.

See you on the diamond the end of March...

UGA, LSU, and Florida have more legit nattys than Tennessee.

One of these schools is not the flagship in their state. Auburn should really never win SEC or National Champs, yet we've done both several times.
What is it with AU fans and this bullshite.

You're the brightest poster here.

Its called the big 6
It is not, it is called "THE SIX"
quote:
no team outside of these teams has ever won the SEC since the start of the SEC Championship game
Nothing to do with this
THE SIX started at least in the 1920 and possibly even before that. It was started by a media person to separate the top from the bottom. The SEC was formed in 1932 with 13 Charter members.
Prior to World War II
Georgia Tech > Georgia
Alabama > Auburn, tho Auburn was better early
tLandmass was not a noted football power, nor was Florida
Tulane > LSU
Sewanee & Vanderbilt dominated early, but Vols were in 1st later
Kentucky was the first SEC school in football, but not in THE SIX
THE SIX in the early SEC
Alabama would be there
Tennessee would be there
Auburn was probably there
Georgia Tech would be there and Georgia would be in the wings
Tulane might have been there, not LSU
THE SIX in the modern SEC
(6) = Alabama in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2020
(3) = LSU in 2003, 2007, and 2019
(2) = Georgia in 2021 and 2022
(2) = Florida in 2006 and 2008
(1) = Auburn in 2010
(1) = Tennessee in 1998
SEC is about winning the national hardware. 6 current SEC schools have done that in the modern era. Win a Natty, then discussing changing THE SIX. No SEC fan over the age of 40 would ever think of a Northern Division nor would they every name something the Big Six when that was the crappy Northern conference to the SEC (Big East and Big Ten).

Tennessee didn't win the SEC in basketball, Auburn did.

How does anything you originally posted make a difference? “We’re just poor little ole Auburn. We’re not even supposed to be good at sports because of big bad Bama”. That’s a losers mentality.

It goes back farther than that. No one outside the Big VI has won an outright title since OM in...'64?, I think? Definitely not since integration.

Kentucky won the SEC in the 70s.
