I am amazed by articles like this. What are you suppose to say about a player you used the third pick overall, after trading to move up one position. Matt Millen used to make the same comments about his draft picks every year.

We will all have our answer on Sept 27, when Trent faces Ray Lewis.

Cam certainly did his thing but we'll see how he does now that everyone has a years worth of film on him.

And here comes the guy that claims coaches that are game-planning every week don't watch film in mid-season.

Anyone taking Richardson in the first round of a fantasy draft is insane IMO. I think he's going to be great but he plays in a division with nasty defenses and a shitty o-line. Give Cleveland some time to put a line in front of him and I think he's a star.

He'll have Smelley blocking for him at TE. No worries.

Smelley is going to have to make the team first. Browns are pretty deep at TE.

Weeden?

Eh, I think it was a bad pick. Should have picked up some blockers for him. Cleveland was 2nd worst in the league in YPR average. Trent is a badass. No doubt about that. He's built like a tank and is close to impossible to bring down. With great speed to add to that.

I'm still not a big fan of picking RBs in the top 15, but he was worth the pick IMO.

We couldnt run the ball because Monty hardesty and Chris obnanaya were the backs for the majority of the season. I would have liked a RT, but the browns have a great left side of the line.

Too bad he'll never win a championship--with the Browns, at least

Weeden was still a really bad pick IMO.

37 year old rookie QBs just don't have success in the NFL. What is that they say? It takes about 5 years for a QB to get adjusted to the league? Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, but it seems to be a good rule of thumb. I don't believe anyone thought Aaron Rodgers was going to go beast mode on the NFL while he was riding the pine behind Favre.

ETA: Look at FSUs last national championship QB for example.

I wouldn't exactly call that "building around" Trent Richardson...

That was a terrible pick. They're going to waste another 2-3 years on a quarterback just like they did with Colt McCoy. They should've waited a year and grabbed one next season in the 1st that could be a true franchise quarterback.

1st rd fantasy pick?

I'm a huge fan of Richardson, but he's in the same division as the Ravens and the Steelers. Much like the rest of the league's RBs, he's not going to do crap against them. Heck, even the Bengals' D is a lot better.

I'd definitely look at him as a 3rd-4th rd. pick, but not the first round.

So Weeden won a National Championship and the Heisman?
