It's kind of an interesting way of admitting none of their fans on this board knows shite. Yet that's exactly what it implies

That is who I am rooting for.

Yeah, why would he go from a small, private school in Ft Worth to a national brand?

Wait until you hear about this small, private school in Nashville.

TCU is more of a national brand in college baseball than A&M is. This isn't football.
Texas A&M has been to Omaha six times. TCU has been five times. Just saying...

I said in a thread a few days ago, but I like Heefner a lot. He'd be a strong hire. I think he could excel here with as good of a job as he's done building DBU up from almost nothing. 9 regionals in 11 years. Including 3 when they were independent and didn't get a shot at an auto bid. He's got 5 small-time conference titles and has even won a regional. 65% winning %. Excellent coach.

BUT

I think he'd be a damn near-lock to accept the job. So not shoot our shot vs some of the more elite proven guys first.

Where did this mindset originate that Texas A&M is somehow a historically lousy baseball program?

According to that list, you must consider Fordham and Washington State as historically significant programs.

College baseball is, and always will be, defined by getting to Omaha and winning. We’ve all seen A&M get there, but in 6 appearances they’ve amassed a total of 2 wins, and are on an 8 game losing streak.

There’s a huge gap between that, and these programs:

Vandy
Florida
Miss State
Arkansas
LSU
SCar
FSU
Fullerton
Stanford
USC
UCLA
Miami
Clemson
Okie State
Arizona
Arizona St

Again, not saying Ags are historically lousy, but definitely a couple of tiers below.

Honestly, probably very similar to their Fb program. So...can they make another ‘home run’ hire?

TCU has been 5 times since 2010. 2 of A&M’s appearances were 60 years ago and 2 others were in the 90s. Big difference, just saying.

I don't think A&M can pull Vitello. I haven't a clue about Godwin, but he's a name that was casually dropped on TA site by the people that would know. He also has a connection with Bjork at Ole Miss.

I don't mind ending up with Heefner as long as we do our diligence first - and yes, he would take the job if offered. We tried for Tadlock already. I don't know what I think about Schloss - hated the guy for years

Godwin would be a good hire. I have a sneaky suspicion he may be waiting for Bianco to hang it up/get canned

Why would he go from a good program like TCU to a mediocre one? His statement makes sense.

Or maybe the guy who gave him his first good job who just so happens to be retiring this season?

No one moves the goal posts better than tSECr.
No data are ever good enough to counter inaccurate information; so the argument(s) must forever be changed.

TCU in the Big 12 is a pretty sweet gig.

The SEC eats decent to average coaches alive.

“I guess I have to say it. I’m not going to be the Alabama coach.” Nick Saban said those words on Dec. 21, 2006. By Jan. 3, 2007, he was the head coach at Alabama

Imaginghiw different the SEC landscape would be if Spurrier left SC and took Bama instead of them getting Saban.

When we were hiring in ‘18 I really wanted us to go after Heef.

Dudes a winner and a fantastic hitting coach. He also has an eye for hiring good pitching coaches. Wes Johnson. Rick McCarty.

Honestly, when the other big names turn you down, I’d be hoping and praying you grab him before someone else does.
