Never.

Happen.

If the scare was real - ticket prices would plummet and everyone would buy tickets.

It has nothing to do with "the scare", and I am not talking about every game, for the record.
Tickets wouldn't exist. The NCAA would cancel participation out of fear of having to deal with the fallout of a spread happening at one of their games that they made the call to not cancel.

These cruise companies are definitely going to get sued for being run by dumbasses.
Major conferences are getting cancelled at this point due to similar concerns, and the NCAA doesn't have the lawyers or goodwill to handle the fallout.

Kentucky would show up anyway and watch around the arena.

Do you own one of those face mask companies? Trying to drum up feat and help sales?

Related questions:

Will sports bars be close packed with fans who just want to be surrounded by other fans to watch the games?

Pleasant habits are hard to break.

Outside of a compromised immune system, why wouldn’t someone attend a game?

Dumb. Here's an option. Don't go if you're scared, instead of blaming the NCAA. 64,000 people have died from Pneumonia since November. Would you blame the NCAA if you contracted Pneumonia at one of their games ?

Sports bars are different because people don't travel from all over the country to congregate in those.

Because it can be spread w/o someone showing symptoms, thus resulting in you inadvertently getting a high risk person sick in a previously non-impacted community.

I mean I don't think there's any chance that March Madness is played in front of no audience but coronavirus is some pretty serious shite

Nah.
The same could be said for any college campus right now—enclaves of thousands, living and breathing on top of each other.
Same with just a regular, non-Tourney hoops game.
I think the Tourney is taking place early enough to be ahead of the curve, so to speak.

Now the Olympics in Tokyo are a different story.
I’d be very surprised if those are held.

I think this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better and avoiding commercial air travel, large metropolitan cities, and crowds seem like the prudent thing to do - at least until an adequate supply of testing kits are available nationwide and the virus begins to decline.

My family canceled two planned trips scheduled for mid-March to St Kitts and early April to Vegas & LA.

I think every American family is rethinking avoiding air travel and large crowds.

If I had to make a prediction I'd bet the tournament is affected in a very negative way.
